I thought he was all world as well. Remember when he was holding out and there were rumours of him fighting Mike Tyson. I was telling people "you have never seen this guy he could do it". Man was I wrong on all accounts.

You can't put Emtman on any list. He kicked butt his rookie year until he blew out his knee; when he tried to come back I think he blew out the other one. I'd say Tim Couch; #1 overall and out of the NFL five years later.

Colts traded Chandler to Bucs for what ended up turning into that 2nd pick of that draft.

Brian Bosworth was a great college player. GREAT. For a great college team. GREAT team. He was too big for the bones God gave him (translate used roids) and, listen to this, 'he was hurt before he was drafted and he worked his ass off to not show it.' He won. Yes, he was a 'bust' in the NFL, but he knew that he had problems going in. He made it through the 'game' and won a contract. Right, wrong or indifferent, that's what happened. I don't feel sorry for Brian Bosworth, but the thing that actually makes me sad, is that folks forget how truly great and hard-nosed a player he was as a college player. tulsa (a loving fan of Brian Bosworth)

Thanks SolidOut. That's crazy, the "two best players" in the draft one year and a few years later left with nothing. I would never have guessed ANY team ever had thd first 2 picks, that's unbelievable.

Memo to the NFL:

1) Don't EVER draft a Penn State running back. Ever, Ever, Ever!!!
2) College QBs in gimmick systems (see; Timmy Chang/U of Houston QBs/Notre Dame QBs when they were running the wishbone?!) make for very nice highlight films and accolades from Mel Kiper.
3)Interview your potential prospects at length, just talk to them. Any decent agent will train his athletes for peak combine performance. Character, respect, and humility are not traits assessed in the 40-time.
4)Look at big schools that consistently win for your players first. For every gamble on a SW Mississippi Valley St. wide receiver, there are always a few guys from Florida State, Miami (Fl), and Gatorland that just might do the trick.
5)Hire Andy Reid to pick the talent.
6)Hire Rich McKay to manage the salary cap.
7)And don't ever let "knowledgeable" Eagles fans in the room prior to your first round pick.
