you gotta believe the world is coming to an end when the nfl starts getting as soft as fagot baseball and calling games off because of rain!
some of the best games ever played, not to mention the most entertaining games have been had in the worst of conditions.
since when is the safety of drunken fans been a concern,(example.. santa clause on the christmas day game in seattle a bunch of years back, drunk by the first quarter and knocked out with a black eye by the third quarter prompting joe thiesman to say,"i don't think santa will be making it home tonight").
the denver/green bay game in the snow, the halloween typhoon in chicago, metcalf lighting it up in the rain at foxboro vs miami or the fog game when philly went to soldier field in the playoffs.

moreover, did anyone ask the players if they wanted to continue?
you can't tell me these monsters are afraid of rain all of a sudden.

A BOMB THREAT..."MAYBE"
AN EARTHQUAKE?...OK.
RAINING FROGS FROM THE SKY?...POSSIBLY.

but a lightening strike hundreds of miles from the stadium with a 15 minute rain storm????

THIS IS TRULY A SIGN OF THE APOCALYPSE!

BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID.

GAME.

Yep, Tag put himself in the same bed as Selig. The sad part is that it wasn't the rain or lightning that ended the game - that action only lasted twenty minutes - but the field was flooded and there was nowhere to play. You'd think the NFL would be on top of the groundskeeping crew for the HOF game.

You might think the NFL would take some lessons from the ground crews at these MLB parks. Whoever designed the drainage system on that field should be hanged from a goal post in the end zone. I'm gussing it was someone who never played the game of football.

It didn't have anything to do with the rain. It had to do with lightning.

This isn't a problem in the winter but preseason NFL games (and college football games) have been called off because of because of lightning in the area.

The thunder storms in the area made it a dangerous condition for fans and players. I had the under, and sure hope this isn't a portent of things to come. We will get them next game.
