There's a rumor floating that the draft is gonna be rigged so the Rangers get the #1 pick, kind of like what happened with the NBA when Ewing went to the Knicks. A sport trying to revive itself by putting a potential star on a team in one of its biggest markets. And consider this: I think it is ESPN or one of the other major networks(for some reason I don't think it's ESPN, but I forget which network it is, but it's huge, maybe TBS), is bidding for the rights to televise the NHL Draft LOTTERY...an interesting tidbit, when you consider that the NHL doesn't even currently have a TV deal for its GAMES.

Just food for thought. Heard that shit on the radio yesterday.

I heard Jeremy Roenick suggesting they just give Sidney Crosby to the Rangers, for pretty much the same reasons. I hope the fix is in, but for some reason I see him going to some random team like the Canucks

Although I'd like to see Crosby go to a big market, there's no way the NHL could take another hit to its credibility by fixing or appearing to fix its inaugural lottery draft. They'd have to be crazy to do that

There is NO FIX with the NHL lottery. What a RIDICULOUS notion.

The NHL would love to see Crosby go to either the NY Rangers or LA Kings but I would like to see him go to a city where the fans DESERVE him, like Edmonton or Toronto.

I agree with your comment on Edm and Tor. However, NYR fans have been pretty damn loyal to a pretty crappy, underachieving team. If we talk about what fans are good enough to deserve Crosby, you can also include Detroit and Philly as well. Just keep him out of Montreal, please

He said he wanted to go to MTL, anyways they got 5th, I had two of my fav teams in the last 10, MTL & Atl. I was trying to imagine a power play with Heatley, Kovalchuk and Crosby.

its funny how people love to scream about lotteries or games being fixed because once in 20 years something crazy happens. When do we see the posts about pitt winning the lottery and that it wasnt fixed?

If by chance (6 percent to be exact) the rangers won the lottery all we would hear is that it was fixed. These major sports have too much to risk to organize a fix like that.
