Side note about Masion exchange

I just wanted to let you exchange users know that if make a wager on 1 side of a game and then change your mind and make a wager on the other side, your balance goes back up since the bets offset. Normally if you had a $2000 balance and made a even money $1000 bet on side A and then an even money $1000 bet on side B. Your balance would be 0 until the game is over. At Mansion as soon as you make the second bet your balance is $2000 again. Another smart play by Manison which allows more action for their players.

I agree with this...but the great part about them is everything else is in place which will make it easier to attract more players with more marketing. The people that do sign up definitely don't leave due to other issues.

I truly believe this will be a Top 3 book with Pinnacle and whoever your opinion feels is #3 by next football season.

Right...

It is basically reduced juice betting. I found this description online:

"In basic terms, you can either place a bet just like you would with an online sportsbetting site, or you can be the bookie and post your odds and stake and people can choose to match it. The former is known as a back (or accept) and the latter is a lay (or offer). Think of it in the same terms as a stock exchange which is a forum for buyers and sellers of stocks. The bet exchange sites keep track of the lays and backs in the order they are matched."

They don't make money... now! They are building it and will charge a fee later. They lose money now with NT fees.

The Mansion exchange doesn't bring in money for itself. It is currently free. Other exchanges charge a 1 or 2% commission which hurts the liquidity. Compare the spreads of what you find on Matchbook.com to Mansion and you will see that Mansion is much tighter. Mansion is using the "new drug theory" to start their exchange. If you have a new drug you give it away to everybody till they all get hooked, then you start charging.

The lines that guys lay out for you to accept would generally be close to the books lines would they not? Do you find guys laying lines that are far off the WA lines?

Last question on exchanges. Are there longer hold times due to the book paying fees and getting nothing in return?

Sometimes people offer some small deals but "generally" they follow the rest of the street. Size is an issue as well if you are a big player. For example on tonights Houston game the ML at the exchange now is -102 for Hou and +101 for Cin. But the -102 is only offering a size of $112 while the Cin bet offers $8542.

$8K is a bit much, and $100 is a bit small. Guess you would need to look around and check in fairly often to find wagers that make sense for you.
