i heard kitty on the radio talking about this last year (it happened a long time ago). he was still very upset about it. kitty does a lot for charities around chicago and indiana so, he is a pretty good guy. the quote he had was shocking when i heard it on the air:

"if i saw barry drowning, i'm not sure i'd pull him out of the water if i could. he is just a miserable human being".

wow

If Bonds wasn't an arrogant prick, the less heat he would take. His attitude
gets him into deep shit wit reporters....why doesn't anyone pick on Mac
or Giambri..

Reminds me of when Keyshawn was quoted as saying he wouldn't sign anything for "you" people when a white kid wanted an autograph.

As an aside, Bonds actions should come as no surprise, his godfather is the immortal Willie Mays who has become the most loathed athlete on the autograph circuit. There are numerous tales of Mays chastising patrons, refusing to shake their hands, look at or speak to them, cursing customers out for wanting Mays to personalize something, etc. Keep in mind these encounters are all at trading shows where people are waiting in line for 3 hours and shelling out $100+ just for an autograph and maybe a smile or picture from Mays. Like godfather, like son

Hines Ward86....please don't bash my all time favorite player. Willie Mays was the most athletic player I've ever seen in person. Mike Schmidt and Clemente
were also right there. But number 24 was the man...please, a little respect,
although I don't doubt you.

The year Ron Kittle claims he was at a Giants game and Barry Bonds refused to sign his jersey, Barry Bonds still played for the Pirates.

Here's the excerpt from Kittle's book that someone quoted on the web. Kittle claims he bought game worn Bonds Giants jerseys in 1992 but Bonds didn't play for the Giants until 1993:

http://www.localh.com/ubb/Forum5/HTML/002869.html

When asked about it later, Kittle goes out of his way to say that there were 26 teams in baseball at the time, and by the time Bonds joined the Giants, there were 28 teams:

Kittle's story just doesn't add up.

Newport here with an early morning day at a meeting in Florida, and I must chime in from the hotel. Also smarting the one point total loss on the Spurs over last night. I tell you NBA linesmakers....give them the trophy already LOL

The Bonds steroid scandal and all the steroid scandal WILL NOT AFFECT BASEBALL AT ALL for its past issues. NOT AT ALL

There was no POLICY in MLB, there was no screening, and there were NO RULES. Athletes were acting in a self improving mentallity and they wanted to last longer and produce more. The words "Unknowingly" used steroids is ALL that needs to be stated, and will be GRANDFATHERED into,

YOU CANNOT TOUCH ME OR MY RECORDS with a 10 foot POLE!!!

You can crucify someone in the civil world over what you think they did, but you cannot crucify them in a LEGAL world when the precedent of rules did not exist. Hey I am sure there was some baseball official out there, who said 10 years ago...."Who cares if they take these drugs, will never affect baseball anyways" so the book is a local book from two wannabees like the two guys who broke the Watergate story for Nixon at the Wash Post. Bernstein and Woodward?? you know what I am saying

GRANDFATHERED!!! remember that. The only thing a player can do is now that would harm his career is to REACT to the press.

Also if BARRY does have a great year.....he will be so OBNOXIOUS calling for a daily test of his blood and urine, to show everyone he is clean

We shall see, but his records and his MLB fate are fine, because he is

C'mon now, is this really a story? Other than Bonds denying it, I'm sure he will stick to his story that they were giving him a substance called the "Cream"...of course he didn't know it was an illegal drug!

I still don't get why people continue to obsess over this...75% of major athletes have used illegal performance enhancing drugs, especially in the NFL!

so red, you think its fine that the games "greatest" player of today injected his ass with a steroid meant to build muscle in cattle? he broke the homerun records while hopped up on all this stuff and its ok because other players did it too?

unbelievable.

as far as i'm concerned, you can kick them all out of the game and wipe out their records forever.

canseco
bonds

palmeiro
caminiti

and whoever else did it.

I have used juice before - the reality is if you use in moderation the dangers of steroids are completely overblown - having just heard what Bonds was using I was a little surprised - we are not talking about an 8 week cycle in the off season - he was never off all those years - I am sure he was running growth hormone the whole time as there still is no test for growth - he's using INSULIN? - the ony people I know who use insulin are competive body builders - Bonds would have been a Hall of Famer but these records are undeniably the result of steroids, growth hormone, insulin, diet and weight lifting.

no question. funny, when they asked bonds about it last year his answer was "steroids dont help your hand-eye coordination".

yeah barry, but they turn flyouts into homeruns dont they? they also keep your old body from breaking down and getting injured.

this guy is a disgrace.

Still, fun to watch homeruns.

How many drug tests has Bonds failed? That's the bottom line and this book is pure speculation and inuendo unless they have him failing a drug test.... and I"m not a Bonds supporter.

Doc,

How do you know Rose didn't ever bet on his own team? Unless you booked all his action you're just going on what Rose says.
