Is Large Syndicate Still Betting NFL?
9/22/03-Shrink

http://www.therx.com/nm/templates/article.asp?articleid=1265&zoneid=2

Perhaps some of you have noticed during the first three weekends of the NFL that the line movements are not nearly as volatile as in years past.

Yes, we did see huge movement this past Sunday involving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons, but that was the exception. For the most part, the pointspread did not move much on other games, if at all.

Could it be that bookmakers have been getting more equal action on both sides of games? I doubt it.

Could it be that one of the largest and most successful sports betting syndicates in the world today has given up betting on professional sports? That’s a possibility, and maybe even a probability.

When I was out of town recently, I had the opportunity to meet with one of the main guys behind this successful sports betting syndicate. He sat down and explained some things that were quite interesting.

"It's just getting harder and harder to make a living by betting on professional sports,” he said. “There are too many others out there trying to beat everyone else to the number, and the line itself is very sharp these days compared to years ago."

While I sat in his office, I noticed several computers arranged on his desk.

“The computer and Internet have evolved into such a free exchange of pertinent information,” he continued. “This has not only educated the bettor, but it has allowed the bookmaker abroad to sharpen up as well."

This wise man continued by speaking succinctly about various other reasons to stop betting on the NFL, and professional sports in general.

"College athletics lends itself to having a much better chance at winning compared to the NFL,” he reported. “The sheer volume of games that the bookmaker must offer involving college teams provides greater opportunities for the astute gambler."

I believe many sports bettors who try and ‘middle’ the NFL will suffer greatly if this syndicate stops betting on the NFL. However, this may be a blessing for them.

"Over the years, I have seen lots of people come to town attempting to ‘middle’ football,” he continued. “There are NONE left and they have all gone BROKE trying to do this. When will they ever learn?”

As a gambler myself, I would strongly recommend taking to heart some of the pearl's that were shared by this very wise man. After all, many people consider him one of the greatest sports bettors who ever lived.

What this article says is

YOU CANNOT WIN BETTING PRO FOOTBALL!!!!!

I have been saying it for a year now, picking out of a hat is the same thing.

Most sports now cannot be beat!!!!

If you make 30 plays a year total you have a shot!!

There's always next year, like in 75, 90-93, 99 &

JJ,
I couldn't agree more.

NHL, MLB, WNBA & NCAA sports can be beat.
NFL & NBA are very very difficult.

lander - You're right on the money! NFL and NBA as the most diffulcult sports to get ahead on.

And I put the MLB as the easiest sport to make money on. hands down. year after year.

COUNDNT DISAGREE WITH MOST OF YOU MORE!

It all comes down to how much effort one wants to put into it and the fact is that 99.99% of bettors will not put the effort in. MOST UNSUCCESSFUL BETTORS DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS NEEDED TO WIN AND CONVERSLY THINK THAT CERTAIN SPORTS CANNOT BE BEAT. ALL SPORTS CAN BE BEAT!!! MOST JUST DONT KNOW HOW TO GO ABOUT IT.

Goldilocks- One can be considered a very excellent handicapper and successful beating a particular sport even though he or she may lose 45 out of 100 plays. Welcome to the real world of sports investing.

Fish,

Are you suggesting that you or someone else can beat the NFL but the most successful syndicate in the world cannot?

Kenny syndicates are overrated now, Walters is a washed up bettor now.

Why were these syndicates sucessful years ago>>>

Well the had computer guys were ahead of the linesmakers but as soon as the tech boom started it was all over for the bettor.

The lines are too tight now and you cannot win long term

Kenny I would be a rich man if I held your action daily.

That is ok... want my followers to be critical of my mishaps. They have every right to be. Even though barely winning more than I lose, have every intention of winning every bet placed and analyze every game lost as to why it went into the shitter. In other words, I am making excuses.

Kenny- ABSOLUTELY. When I am focused and doing all the work that is necessary to pick winners in the NFL....or any sport, it would be very hard for anyone to have an edge OVER me......be it syndicate or Mr. John Q. Public.
I rarely seriously bet anymore because I want to do everything within my power to produce winners. Dont worry, have a few more good runs in me........just lacking desire currently. Currently my number 1 priority is my family and making the RX a better community. Hope this answers your question Kenny. Good luck this week sir.

JJ,

Let's let Pinnacle hold the bets that I make into your New York Post lines that you will be offering me...

Just 2 questions...

1-What is my sign up bonus for allowing you the priviledge of booking my easy action?

2-What is the maximum bet you will take on College Football sides and totals?

Thanks, and I expect both you and I to be sending Pinnacle (mine is already there) the money as soon as you answer these 2 simple questions...
