Is Large Syndicate Still Betting NFL?

Perhaps some of you have noticed during the first three weekends of the NFL that the line movements are not nearly as volatile as in years past.
Yes, we did see huge movement this past Sunday involving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons, but that was the exception. For the most part, the pointspread did not move much on other games, if at all.
Could it be that bookmakers have been getting more equal action on both sides of games? I doubt it.
Could it be that one of the largest and most successful sports betting syndicates in the world today has given up betting on professional sports? That’s a possibility, and maybe even a probability.
When I was out of town recently, I had the opportunity to meet with one of the main guys behind this successful sports betting syndicate. He sat down and explained some things that were quite interesting.
"It's just getting harder and harder to make a living by betting on professional sports,” he said. “There are too many others out there trying to beat everyone else to the number, and the line itself is very sharp these days compared to years ago."
While I sat in his office, I noticed several computers arranged on his desk.
“The computer and Internet have evolved into such a free exchange of pertinent information,” he continued. “This has not only educated the bettor, but it has allowed the bookmaker abroad to sharpen up as well."
This wise man continued by speaking succinctly about various other reasons to stop betting on the NFL, and professional sports in general.
"College athletics lends itself to having a much better chance at winning compared to the NFL,” he reported. “The sheer volume of games that the bookmaker must offer involving college teams provides greater opportunities for the astute gambler."
I believe many sports bettors who try and ‘middle’ the NFL will suffer greatly if this syndicate stops betting on the NFL. However, this may be a blessing for them.
"Over the years, I have seen lots of people come to town attempting to ‘middle’ football,” he continued. “There are NONE left and they have all gone BROKE trying to do this. When will they ever learn?”
As a gambler myself, I would strongly recommend taking to heart some of the pearl's that were shared by this very wise man. After all, many people consider him one of the greatest sports bettors who ever lived.
