Just remember the famous words by one of my Yankee heros, Yogi Berra...

"IT AIN'T OVER TIL IT'S OVER."

And if it doesn't work out, when I made my bold prediction, I had no clue that Carl Malone would get severely hurt...

But hey, that's why they call this gambling and how significant an inury this has been, we'll never know....

Good point SHRINK, you deserve some slack because of that.

Also, like you mentioned, this is far from over.............these are the Lakers after all.

Huh? Have you seen the first 4 games? Detroit is a much better team.

The GENERAL is a strict DOG player these days and is fast learning the art of being a contrarian, which is very much needed to be sucessful in this business.

However, your correct, he may be biting off more than he can chew here in this spot.

I've watched all 4 games, and the Lakers haven't done jack. Nothing. Completely humiliated on both ends of the court. I am the first to admit that this series has completely shocked me from the initial tip. But it's hard to argue with what's been presented. It just seems to me that any takers on the Lakers at this point are just arguing against what seems like "the truth." That Detroit is just flat out much better than the Lakers.

But anything can still happen, Malone (as I said was playing a huge role in these playoffs, before his injury he had shut down Duncan and had contained Garnett in the Lakers wins) he should not be PLAYING!

The game was very winable , LOL WHY DID THEY STOP GOING TO SHAQ? Shaq was having a 40-45 point game and they stopped getting him the ball at the end of the half and the 4th qtr?

How do the Lakers have one possesion in these desperation games and not go to Shaq I do not understand? GET THE BALL TO SHAQUILLE, ESPECIALLY WHEN HE IS DEALING...

Now Shaq will be playing game 5 on just 2 days rest , he AVG 6 more points per game on 3 days rest....

What a bunch of cry babies though, Shaq was the only guy on the floor playing with class...Payton and George and Kobe and even Fisher, BOOOO FVKIN HOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I agree I have never seen the lakers WHINE so much...The quest of Payton and Malone to get paid nothing to get a ring might be over...these 2 should retire , IMO

The whining & finger pointing could get unbearable if the Lakers lose 1 more.

This series sjould've been a 4-0 SWEEP by Pistons! Guess what they BETTER NOT let the Lakers win game 5, if they do the Lakers WILL WIN 6 & 7 at home and the talk will be how they should've swept the Lakers!!

Two comments...

1. It never fails to make me laugh when I read postgame comments from teams and fans that just got beat by the Pistons. Inevitably, you hear comments like "We just played a poor game" or "We just didn't have our normal energy". No, you're wrong - you played your normal game - you just played it with a constant hand in your face for a change. Think back on how many uncontested shots the Lakers have had this series. You can probably count them on one hand. You get that many open looks in 5 minutes in a Dal/Sac game.

2. Why does everyone blame injuries when their team loses? Injuries are a part of the game. You HAVE to plan for them, because EVERY team suffers them sooner or later, ESPECIALLY those teams with aging superstars! The Pistons, with their incredibly deep bench, have done just that. Remember, Sheed has been nursing an incredibly painful foot injury the entire playoffs which has severely limited his minutes in several games. When he comes out, you barely notice a drop off.
