The #1 ranked and undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide puts it all on the line against a very strong opponet in their own back yard tomorrow as The Tide invade Baton Rouge and take on the #15 ranked and very dangerous LSU Tigers.
The subplot involves Bama coach Nick Saban vs LSU's head coach Les Miles. A year ago LSU won a dramatic 41-34 game in Tuscaloosa that basically ruined Bama's season. The Tigers defending National Champs are saddeled with two big losses this year already so IMO are basically playing spoliler here as 3 to 3.5 point dogs at home.
LSU has played a difficult SEC schedule while losing to both Florida (51-21) and Georgia (52-38) but can make up for a lot of the dissappointment by beating the undefeated Crimson Tide and knocking Lou Saban's 9-0 Crimson Tide out of the #1 spot in the BCS.
We all know it will be a madhouse at Tiger Stadium, unfortunately the game is scheduled to begin at 3:30PM Eastern, those big rivalry night games at Baton Rouge are college football at it's best. They actually effect the Richter Scale at Death Valley on those nights when Tiger stadium become the 5th largest city in Louisiana. The noise level is measured at around 117 decibels at times (a jackhammer is 90 decibels).
Regardless, I am looking forward to a relentless LSU ground game led by a bevy of backs including new standout redshirt freshman FB Stevan Ridley who came off the bench last week against Tulane and scored his first TD as a Bengal Tiger (5 carries 51 yards). Of course standout TB Charles Scott has to have a big game.
Tiger signal caller QB Jarrett Lee (another redshirt freshmen) has to avoid turning the ball over and not lose the game single handedly. He needs to play within himself and let his huge O line and speedy ball carriers score the points, the defense should be fired up and be a match for Alabama's somewhat vanilla offense.
Forget about the Saban/Miles hype as the game is going to be won in the trenches and FWIW give me LSU plus 3.5 for 2 units...
BOL. wil..
