wasn't Dennis Miller on MNF?. Much rather had any hot female announcer
like erin andrews than someone like him.
its not like you are watching her in a bikini in the corner of your TV throughout the game.

I liked Dennis Miller.

I dont have a problem with female announcers as long as they know the game and i agree with others that Doris Burke is as good as they come in basketball.

But as i get older i'm starting to dislike sideline reporters , especially if they seem to be there for eye candy. At one time back in the 70's and 80's the sideline reporter was useful in reporting injury or other key info in a timely fashion , but with today's electronic communications this info could just as easily be sent to the booth for the broadcasters to report. The only thing that's really useful about the sideline reporter is the interviews with coaches. ... and i'm guessing most of these bimbo's arent thinking of their own questions but they've likely been scripted.

There's nothing more annoying than hearing Tracy Wolfson say the word coach.

Dennis Miller was great.

Monday night football has very little to do with "football" and a great deal to do with entertainment.

The Pabst Blue Ribbon crowd who are die hard NFL fans will watch MNF regardless of if Dennis Miller is working the game, or Red Grange.

I always thought that to attract fringe sports fans to tune into MNF it would work if they had 6-8 "guest" color people in the booth over the course of a season. People from the main stream entertainment/political world.

lady ga ga, dennis miller, ted nugent, jay leno,.

Yes it would detract from the "football", but once again the die hards will STILL WATCH (they always do). And with "guest" coming in to the booth tat have been hyped by the media for 2-3 weeks before they are on the broadcast, it would do a great deal to broaden the demographics of the viewer.

I think he does yes.

The point (to me) isn't whether women "know the game" or not. It just doesn't work for me.

I rather listen to men announce football, hockey, baseball and basketball because they are usually ex-players or ex-coaches. Men and women are different like it or not and we don't always have to integrate every single aspect of society.

Most of the color commentators are ex players and coaches , but not the play by play analists. Most females are in the play by play roll and not color role , so really no difference in that aspect.

Not to get off topic here , but where i draw the line with female involvement in men's sports is when they want to refferee or umpire. We do or did have a female ref in the NBA and i think there's a conference in college football that has a female ref (not head ref but side judge or something) and there are or were several female umpires in the minor leagues.

I dont mind em announcing but keep your ass off the field.
