Should the NFL ban the tackle that took TO out?

Nothing against Roy Williams finger: :finger: :finger: ) because he was just "doing his job" bringing down TO from behind but Roy has taken out three different players the same way this season alone and all have been a result of that type of tackle (pulling down the player from behind at the top of his back). I've heard this debated that the NFL should ban that type of tackle.

I don't think it needs to be banned but I think the league should keep a close eye on Williams since this is the third player he has crippled for the year this year. Just wondering what people think about that.

I figured some of you don't watch shows like Pardon the Interruption or Around the Horn (NATIONALLY TELEVISED Sports Talk Shows on ESPN) where this point was brought up (as well as on NFL Live also on ESPN) so I figured I would see if anyone had a rational reaction to this point.

FWIW both guys on PTI thought the NFL should look at banning this type of tackle.

They banned the clothesline...not to mention a few other types of tackles.

I don't think Williams goes out to intentionally injure a player but 3 guys getting their legs broken from the same guy on the same type of tackle should at least be looked at from the league. I think TO's injury was a freak of nature but the fact that Williams has done this to other players should at least get the NFL's attention.

I can't see how it can be banned....The speed this game is played at and now players have to worry about how they can hit someone with their helmet, when its all timing, I just can't see many more limitations working....On the other hand they never really enforced the pass interference rule either....

No its not Jman. The guy is a pompous as*. Like TO says, if you don't want him to dance, keep him out of the endzone. Well Roy Williams made sure there's no dancing going on. It's been real nice not having to hear "well if TO gets another TD, Andy Reid will have to wear tights" this week. The only shame is that they let him in Baltimore to get his surgery. Hopkins or Univ of Md Med (I'm not sure which place he ended up going) should have turned him down.
