If someone is proved to be a scammer he should not be allowed to post here.

Why?

People that frequent this website (other than the losers who have nothing better to do and those who work in this business) come here because they are in need of help. That is after all the main goal of this site, or at least in theory that is it. Though it is inexcusable for a sportsbook to not have enough funds to pay a gambler, some books have gone down because of these very same scammers.

In conclusion, hosting a site that is supposed to help the honest gambler that will also allow a proved scammer to post is a ridiculous scenario.

I agree with Slim. This site is to help people and guys that are proven liars and scammers serve no purpose here imo. On the other hand before a guy is banned there should be conclusive proof that he's a fraud. A couple of stories proves nothing.

No, as long as they do not try to push their scams on other posters. Truth is there are many scammers about who do not get caught. Scammers can be good posters too. When they push their scams on others, it's time to cut ties.

Define a "proven scammer." Otherwise this will be just as vague as the bad line rule.

In general I think the more open the forum is the better. Also it has very little effect to ban someone here since they can just come back with a new name.

Good discussion guys, I probably come down close to Slim and Tin. I don't want a full scale witch hunt chasing scammers but when one falls into our lap I think we should do away with him. Proven without a doubt cases, like Oldfriend for example.

Yes he may come back under another name but that's not a reason to act on it when we know someone is scamming books (or anyone else). At least they know when we find out who you are again you are not welcome here.

I disagree with Slim. The best way to show a scammer what a scumbag he is is to rub his nose in his own doo. Let him post whatever he wants, and when he lies, make sure it gets pointed out. Bring up links to the threads where his scamming is obvious. Let him try to defend himself as much as he can. If he is wrong, then the more it is discussed the more obvious it will be that he is a scammer. Nobody likes to have his nose rubbed in it for too long. He will go away by himself.

The purpose of a forum is to have open discussion so that the truth can be exposed. Banning should only be done in cases of extreme vulgarity, personal insults, or other behaviors which make the forum an unpleasant experience for the majority of readers. And even then it should only be done after fair warning and an explanation is given. The goal should be to never have to ban anyone IMO.

My Take,

I think we should NOT allow proven scammers to post. This is hard to prove so we can not go around banning people that look highly suspect until they are proven. But why have scammers in with the good people on this site trying to take there $ .

I would say no way to this

All this fvck'in CRYIN !... if the books offer bonuses and someone is trying to get an edge , what the HELL do you care ? the MAN has the Fvckin' vig , does he not ? Why shouldn't the common gambler who puts his ass on the line everyday , be entitled to something ? Put your energies into your PICKS instead of worryin' about this SH*t !!!
