Should I, or should I not call the police on my neighbors? damn crackheads!

I live at the end of a culdesac, and my immediate next door neighbors are a strange group of people...I hate to have to call the police on them because they'll probably know its me

but the sh1t they do almost daily is goddamn annoying!!!

The house is owned by an older hagged out looking woman about 50-ish, she's freidnly enough, but she has these yound adults who live with her, I'm not sure which one is related to her, but they are a bunch of freaking drug addicts...and me being the anti drug person that I am , I have a had time just watching the crap I see....Now like I said they are not direct trouble to me...the young adults are always arguing, I don't think they work, the male is about 27 , he always wears one of those skin caps , that you see the brothers wear, but he's a white just going bald....his girlfriend is an attractive little crack ho...skinny, well built and maybe 23......

Here's where the trouble is, they have a very young son....I watch them almost daily put the kid in the front seat without a seatbelt or car seat...even the hagged out grandmother does it...I also see them smoking what is obviously some sortive drugs RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE LITTLE GUY

which to me is absolutely disgusting....

They don't even care who's watching, I'm telling ya... they smoke their drugs as if they are sipping on mint julips

young son just right there while mommy and daddy get stoned or high on crack....

So I have decided NOT to do anything , I feel for the kid, as he is destined to be what his parents are....but what can i do really? Also, they are a very loving family lol...I hear them telling each other, they love each other... etc, when they leave....so its not that they just don't care...they're just some crazy crackheads I dunno lol ...

The other two families in the culdesac must not care, so I guess I won't either...I keep hoping the young adults will move out, but I don't think they even work...so it looks like I am stuck with them

and another thing...these no good free loaders are always home...I feel like telling the guy to go get a job, so he can be a man and raise his family on his own...I even thought maybe to tell them I'm an undercover police officer and I don't appreciate seeing the drugs...lol

There is an agency you can call if you feel the child is not being brought up in a decent environment.

Boys I really believe 80% of the worlds people are just plain nuts! I mean, I may pee in the shower, not tell a checkout clerk she missed my fish when she was ringing me up, but I do not do harm to anyone...

jman, doesnt really matter what you do. somehow the little guy will some how get put back into the family. if not, he will be place in foster care, or a home.

no way to be raised. this little guy is destined for destruction like many are in the world.

this world is fvcked up at times, and there are a lot of fvcked up people.

if it is not directly effecting you in anyway, noise, smell....i would keep my nose out of it. remember they are druggies, and sometimes dont think clearly.

i would keep my nose where it belongs, unless is it truely necessary

Fish - I did call the police once on them...as I watched the granny put the kid in the front seat for the 20th time and drive off....But I guess the cops didn't catch her....If I called an agency you know I would be the one they'd realize it...And now days who knows...when I was younger and dumber, I would have told them and probably slapped the guy around if I had to...But I realize I would be opening a whole nother can of worms...I don't need to worry about having my tires slashed etc...you just can't get away from these types

JMan, I have no qualms about harming people who I feel threatened by. Even worse, threatening my family. I act quickly with extreme prejudice. But in your passive case, call the Children's Protective Agency or Services. As an anonymous concerned citizen. They can, and will yank the kid and make him a ward of the court, or place him in protective services. There are many more insideous ways to rid your court of them, but that does not sound like you. Bottom line, I would do what I could to protect the child. If it meant ratting out the addicts, so be it. If you do nothing the kid is done, and you have to live with that. Kids shouldn't be put in harms way because of ignorant adults.

I know the grandmother does the drugs with them...I have watched em all out on their deck...I can even hear them, I'm telling ya in the old days... I would have went off, the weird thing is they are fairly friendly to me....When I get out of the car they say hello etc...

My 7 yr old even see's how foolish they are...in fact she was the one that first told me about the little kid sitting without a seatbelt....its a tough situation...But I do know one thing, and anyone, officer of the law or court would have a hard time witnessing adults getting stoned in front of a baby...and this is like everyday...I mean, I see it and I only see what they do on their deck... I even thought of video taping the events

As a rule, I hate snitches...but when it comes to child abuse or animal abuse all bets are off. If you don't report these people to CPS or a similar agency then you are partially to blame if something happens to that child. Kids and animals can't protect themselves or choose their parents or owners. Some people shouldn't have either and these clowns obviously belong in that group. Do the right thing and help that kid.

Yeah...maybe I should stop in the police station and talk to them...I wish the stupid cops could just catch them...I called the one time when they left , hoping they would atleast catch them driving around...of course they must have missed them...

The funny is they love their kid alot , like I said... they're a very outwardly affectionate family...

The drugs and stuff yes - but I must confess I have put my 4 year old in the front seat to take her to my daycare which is at the end of our dead end street which is off another dead end street...

I never do it when we go on the main roads but in our small neighborhood I never even thought about it - I mean who would call the cops about something like that??? Thats what I thought anyway...

I guess I should look to see who is watching before I think about that again.


I mean I am a believer in seat belt use and car seats for kids but there is a point where it get rediculous isnt there?

I mean I take care of my kids - why should they have to be friggin strapped to the back of the back seat if Im just going down a dead end road with 8 houses on it?

Jaypaw..I am no seatbelt saint either when I drive ...But i always strapped my daughter in the back...for your situation, driving down a block is nothing...I know for a fact they drive out on main roads...I am not the type that goes around squealing on people either...but these people are flaunting the ignorance.

What do you think might include animal abuse?

Maybe a dog tied up with no water or food in the sun for a week? Horses being starved to death in a pen? Cats being tortured for fun by kids? Any of those work for you?
