Should I Move to Vegas?

Hi everyone. I'm living outside of United States. I'm using on-line sportsbooks right now. I'm more focused in NBA Totals but there's a problem. My money management strategy is Labouchere (also known as Cancellation system) and in this system you're increasing stakes in a losing run. Unfortunately, I noticed that wagering limits for totals are a little bit low (1,000$ in TheGreek) so this situation may cause some problem in future when I must lay 2000-3000 for a single game.

Should I go to Vegas? Or is there any alternative that you can suggest? Playing at Vegas sportsbooks will be more easy and secure I guess.

Thanks!

Why would you think the limits are any higher here?

Arent they? In addition, I guess there's many many many (Over 50+ I guıess?) sportsbooks in Vegas so even the limits are 1000, I can use 6-7 sportsbooks to beat limit problem.

There are definitely ways to get creative. But keep in mind many of the books are owned by the same company. For instance you have your Harrahs books, MGM/Mirage books, Leroys, Stations, Boyd, etc. Just something for you to keep in mind in case you didnt know.

I'm not up to speed on basketball total limits as I don't wager on them but i do know that they are in the dime range. Almost all the strip properties here are limited to two shops, (Harrah's and MGM). Once you play a dime at one the others will move accordingly. You'll have a uphill battle in playing a basketball total for more than a dime at most downtown properties, Stations, etc. as well. Hilton might be your best bet but even then I doubt they handle huge amounts...especially if you win on a consistent basis.

So how professional handicappers are making living? There must be a way to wager 5k-10k on totals!

Maybe exchanges like matchbox?

Sportsbooks here are little more than a amenity. They want square money. As far as I know most sharps are using offshore.

I cringe when people say they are going to move to Vegas and make a living wagering on sports. Your 20 years late.

The above is somewhat dated but gives you a idea to what I'm trying to say.

Actually after reading the whole link from above...it is very outdated.

People have a misconception that sports betting limits in vegas are really high, which in my experience only applies to football and not always in that case. Could you tell me the approxamite limits in vegas sports books on the 4 major sports? Thank you for your time. -- Betsy from Malibu
I don't count hockey as a major sport because it gets very little action. I'm told that the Coast casinos have the highest limits. There is no maximum set in stone that I know of but they take large bets on a case by case basis. Here is what I think they would probably take on the average game.

NFL side: $50,000
NFL total: $5000
MLB money line: $10,000
MLB total: $2000
NBA side: $10,000
NBA total: $2,000

If limits are a problem and you think Vegas is the answer, I hope you in good physcal shape. In my experience, most books in vegas only allow $200-500 wagers on NBA totals. They are giant cowards.

So I can wager 500$ on sportsbook A, another 500$ on sportsbook B and another 500$ on sportsbook C, I guess?

Or I place my wager, left the building and come back with changing clothes?

Sawyer if you are betting the limit don't you think they'll move the line after the first nickel..the second nickle...etc.?

Well, I think there must be at least 30-40k action to change the line I guess?

Correct me please if i'm wrong. I doubt they will change the line for wagering 1k.
