Should I get a TV tuner?

Looking at getting a Dell laptop (posted about it in the general forum) and an option is a tv tuner. From what I've read, that would give me the capability to watch whatever is on my tv on my comp. screen, correct? And it acts as a DVR? Would all I need to do is connect via normal cable from directv satellite feed? Sorry - kinda dumb about these newest technological things. Thanks for any help you can give.

I think you'd need a different kind of cable connection from the TV to your computer. I can't say that I know anyone who has ever messed with this though.

Works just like digital cable. I have it on my dell laptop. Remote control too, and separate from my tv as you can watch different channels. At 17 inch its the best picture in picture ever. And yes like a DVR. and a quick hit on minimize and your posting at the RX.


However prices will come down on windows media package
