I think it depends on what you want, and what you get. If you get bad service, or great service tip accordingly. If you get/expect the royal treatment, which is above and beyond good service, you should tip big.

im just wondering if your an athlete or actress etc, every meal is not going to be crazy if your somewhat down to earth person, your gonna go to a pizza hut, local burger joint etc and run up a $30-40 bill etc, are you really going to leave a $5-7 tip etc

If I'm a big rich athlete and I want in-n-out, or pizza hut, I'm sending someone else to get it for me. If I go out to dinner I'd expect the royal treatment and know that tipping huge at places I frequent will get me that.

Some wealthy people are deadbeats when it comes to tipping, they have the audacity of thought that look who I am, you're lucky enough to serve me & talk to me.......a small amount of wealthy/famous people fall under this IMO......

Most wealthy/famous people are good at tipping I'm assuming........

But how can we validate any of the above statements w/o real life evidence of it?

This is how I see it: Take someone making $50,000 and someone making $5,000,000 per year. To the first person, $1000 is $1000, but to the second person, $1000 is more like $10 due to the income difference and this is why you see rich people tip more, they really do see the $100 as $10. Tipping should be done 100% dependant on service and service alone, if I was rich enough I would take part in sob stories (medical bills, single parent) but until then I only tip on great service.

To answer your question, no they should not tip more just because they are wealthy or have the means to. If that's the expectation, when will the begging stop? And when was the last time a famous person had to pay for anything, I'm pretty sure everything would be comped by the manager.

Mayweather comes to the restaurant I work at probably 1-6 times a month last 10 years, usually tips 50-100 percent of tab, sometimes even tips all cooks $100 if he comes in late

It's casual dining, usually comes with family or business partners plus 5-8 bodyguards, so usually anywhere from 12-30 people

Tip 15% max no matter who you are in life. The tip shouldn't be based on how much someone is worth. Most of the rich people go to fancy restaurants and spend lots of money anyway so the tips end up being huge no matter what.
