I dont agree with everything our govt does of course, but if you despise our country that much, your azz needs sent back to where you came from, or locked up...

that decides the question of whether public display that involves destroying The Flag is...
A lot of People died. For this Flag. So the real question is: "Should it be Illegal for people to spit on the graves of dead American soldiers?"
To which I'd say "Yes"
But then there is the question of what real means we have available to us to truly "shock" people into thinking about Injustice.
You take away Burning The Flag and you remove, pretty much, the only means of Expression that is guaranteed to get people's attention.
In theory, at least, this country could find itself having arrived at a day when their government was made up of people who were given massive amounts of money from corporations and other special interest groups and
were we to ever arrive at such a day, god forbid, one can at least see how burning the flag might be considered. By some.
As a way to say: "Hey Ya'll, look at whats going on here. This is Wrong."
So its not an easy question.
And as far as my opinion goes I also believe that when Police or National Guard encounter Rioters in the street that are destroying property or beating on innocent people that they should shoot to kill. So...my opinion may be kinda 'far out" on things. It feels like it is, on this flag burning question.
Me personally? I have trouble imagining a scenario under which I would set fire to the American Flag.

When it comes to things like this, the U.S. should operate as communists & put a stop once & for all to foreigners & haters doing duch, by serious, severe punishment.
Freedom is one thing, but there should be no more freedom to disrespect the country itself, in any way.

It would be relatively simple to pass a law that said
"If a guy goes off bcuz he sees someone burning The American Flag, we are not gonna do too much to him. We'll take his prints, spend a few minutes investigating but ya'll who decide to set fire to or step on the American Flag as part of your Attention Whoring pretending to be a Revolutionary on Social Media hobby....

If we had a Law such as that I know that I personally would become quite motivated indeed to practice my own "Freedom of Expression"
were I to see someone burning the flag, or stepping on it.
