No, I personally think he's most likely a scumbag, but there has been no charges filed in either incident. Suspend him for what? Allegations?
That's why I capitalized CONSISTENCY. I am of the mindset that they shouldn't do anything if the person is not charged, or cleared of charges. But, the league has been handing out suspensions in spite of the legal disposition of cases, so they need to continue to be CONSISTENT.
(OK, no more capitalizing consistency!)
No charges being filed by DA/police so why should The NFL feel they are empowered to punish Ben?. Players are not saints (even The Saints) young guys in their 20s like women which when you mix in the fact that many, if not all are millionaires will lead to the occasional public scandal.
Nothing new, old timers (and HOFers) like Bobby Layne, Paul Hornung, and Jim Brown along with many others were extraordinary hell raisers in their day.
I know two wrongs do not make a right but for decades star players have been targets of gold diggers and con men.
wil.
did you even listen to what the district attorney said about the case? After the bodyguard walked the girl into the bathroom where Ben was waiting, he stood guard outside. Then when she went to the hospital that night, there was vaginal bleeding along with bruises and cuts all over her. Combine that with her changing her mind and wishing to drop the charge (bought out by Ben or just doesn't want private details of her life exposed) whatever the reason, it seems unlikely that this wasn't a case of a gold-digging 20year old trying to milk Ben imho.
district attorney said they didn't pursue, because they couldn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt. he would not have brought that to the public's attention if he didn't think that something improper had occurred that evening.
Big ben is a piece of trash. What a loser, he is a 28 yr old millionaire QB who needs to spend his time in a college bar acting like an arrogant prick.. Act your age already man.
If stuff did go down and I was that girls father wow would I go on a rampage..
Yes, because money will remove all the scars my daughter will live with the rest of her life.Unless of course a team of lawyers show up at your door with big $$$. In turn you go buy that summer home and a new car for yourself, the wife and of course the daughter. But yes if I was her dad I'd want to take at least one mighty swing at his head.
Still if nothing more is said or done it feels like he is getting a pass where other NFLers seemed to get hit pretty hard for their indescretions. Maybe it is apples and oranges and all of that but I can see how some would claim special treatment because he's a QB or whatever.
