Pocketrockets and Everfresh...both of you should keep your uninformed and useless comments to yourself. If you don't know facts, stop spreading BS rumors and useless comments to yourself. Karma is a bitch and I hope it comes back to bite you both in the ass.

[h=1]Easy Bet Owner Will Likely Pull Through Following Brazen Assassination Attempt[/h]
The California-born owner of a Pay Per Head business in Costa Rica identified only as Jason F. is expected to pull through according to sources close to Gambling911.com.

The individual was shot four times as he left an Escazu bakery near the La Paco shopping center Wednesday morning and attempted to get into his red Range Rover (pictured). Two men pulled up on motorcycles and fired the shots. Authorities are still investigating.
There is widespread speculation Friday that the attack could have been tied to the man’s real estate dealings and not his Pay Per Head business Easy Bet.
Authorities suspect the man to be a victim of a “bajonazo” (hold up at gunpoint), though they have not ruled out an attempted contract killing as witnesses claim to have seen men waiting in a car nearby at the time of the shooting.
Jason, who has resided in Costa Rica since 2004 and is 42 years of age, was upgraded to stable condition overnight Thursday but remained in ICU.

If we are a little sensitive it is because he is a friend, not just some name in the news.

I understand, hope he gets better Judge.

If he is not a loanshark great but is not like being a loanshark is a bad thing... to me there are very few things that are bad things, that is not one of them... I dont know the guy and will stop posting about it.

"Bajanazo" --> poorly translated to english on all these mock news sites as "hold up at gunpoint".

What it actually means is "car jacking".

If that was the case, I would have been dead years ago.....a few of us over here in Thailand are praying for him....as you said before, "one of the good guys"

He phrased it in a very insensitive manner considering all the friends Jason has on this forum but the papers did report it as a carjacking. Jason has one of the nicest cars in the country so the suggestion that it could be the result of that is a fair one. I would never blame a victim for the crime however. Hope he pulls through. Keep us updated.

An unfortunate negative here is all the media attention being directed towards Jason and his operation.

The US Embassy sent out a notice about the event yesterday. I don't think anybody in the "industry" wants to be on that radar.

You can bet also that the CR authorities will do everything possible to paint this as an "industry" event not a random event. This is a huge negative for anybody involved in this business. It is an easy excuse for the crime problem to blame others. If you read the paper you will see every day how foreigners are blamed for the crime problem. Sportsbook people can easily be characterized as mafia despite most being computer geeks.

There are mafia elements still in this business obv... especially with credit shops but is not the majority and truth is, government will do anything they can to achieve any kind of money grab.
