some very simple predictive index assessments that can be given in the hiring process. the navy created one for WW2 that allowed them to decide where on a plane you would be seated. If you came up as someone that would personalize dropping a bomb, you wouldn't have that job. These tests are not expensive to administer and would nearly guarantee someone could pull the trigger if necessary. I'm sure the military still uses these today to decide career paths...

(btw i am basing this off my assumption that a predictive assessment was not part of the hiring process)

All missileers (people that sit on the launch console) must go through extensive background checks and questioning to determine if they are fit to be a missileer and in fact, can do the job if called on.

Is that why the Sheriff fired him?

I really, really don't get this idea that an AR-15 is some magical device preventing you from being shot.
Just strange.

And why do people assume the shooter was a good shot and knew how to handle the weapon?

I'm pretty good with a 9MM. There's no doubt I could take a shooter down if he had an AR-15. No doubt.

Maybe things have changed in the past 50 years but I can only
speak from experience. I've seen soldiers freeze and sob
uncontrollably at the start of a fire fight. Just couldn't
pull that trigger while others appeared to actually enjoy it.

And while I don't agree with Enfuego, it's not having a gigantic
pair of balls, it's more like having an acute awareness of self–preservation.

You don't agree it takes courage to get in the middle of a firefight? It's the scariest thing you'll ever experience.

If they are going to have armed guards at schools you need to make them veterans of the military, prefer soldiers who were in war zone theater.
Pay them well with excellent benefits. Being in this scenario would not be foreign to them. This guy, I don;t know his background but he's big effin pussy and not much of a human being to sit outside the building while this is going on. He should get no pension, no benefits, if they could he should be charged with something.

This guy is not a man, he should go hide his face as he is a disgrace. Do not take the job if you can't do the job.. Complete disgrace

What happened is not uncommon really.

Cops generally hide till the danger has clearly passed AND THEN they act like big shots.

They especially like when its 15 of them versus 1 unarmed guy.... then its SHOWTIME!!!:shoot3::shoot3::shoot3:

Im pretty sure there is nothing this cop could have done with a 9 mm and the kid is blasting an AR - Israel is a grand standing clown - jew would have ran himself

Anti-Semitic putz(ASP): (see above)

“A teacher would have shot the hell out of him before he knew what happened,” Trump said.

When the ASP is the more logical person, we have a BIG problem...

If you're surprised by the incompetence and finger pointing, don't be.
