Shell Station Thief

I went to get gas a couple days ago and happened to get the same guy from the last time i filled up. He works the pump closest to Sarreto...I ask for 30k and he walks around and goes through the motions and comes back to ask the usual, oil, water.....when he walks back to check the pump i happen to look and see that it is sitting on 2k and i didn't hear the pump shut off....so he says."oh, sorry i understood 2k" I was furious....he proceeds to pump in 28k and when i paid him i reminded him that he did the exact same thing to me a couple weeks ago....thieving pig...didn't think much of it then until it happened again.....

I mentioned this to a friend of mine who had something similar happen at the Total station in Santa Ana.....they charged her more on her credit card than the pump read...the guy took the extra 10k out of his pocket to reimburse her....

On another note..those of you new down here be cautious and extra careful this month as many more thiefs are out looking for some Christmas cash....

At first I was think he meant Kiloliters, but usually its in Liters. 30K kiloliters is a lot of guess and 30K, no wonder he tried to rip you off. If you are willing to pay 2K, why not go for broke.

Should have gotten out of the car and given him a beatdown...or remind him that have any shell stations burned any more kids....

I know Shell prices are usually 20 cents higher than the other stations, but that's expensive gas.

Hi Lori! Hope you are doing well.

I read your note, and thought it important to REMIND locals to be careful when paying with a card at the pump. I suggest you roll the windows up -to prevent someone's hand from reaching in and stealing something-, get out of the car - might as well be ready to flee in the event of an emergency-, and follow the guy as he goes to run your card whenever possible. In the past, there have been cases of cards being passed through READERS, and duplicated.

Better to be safe than sorry.

I have used credit cards for over 10 years....EXTENSIVELY (Even the pulperia where I go takes my cc)

NEVER had a problem , probably because I stick to a rule

a) never use cc's in bars
b) never use cc's in gas stations
