Sharyl Attkisson: When I'd Begin Getting Under Surface of an Obama Scandal, CBS Would Pull Me Off

"There is unprecedented, I believe, influence on the media, not just the news, but the images you see everywhere. By well-orchestrated and financed campaign of special interests, political interests and corporations. I think all of that comes into play"

Sharyl Attkisson Reveals How White House Bullies Harass, Dodge, Lie To, Hide From, And Thwart Free Press

On Fox News this morning, former CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson BLASTED her former bosses and the Obama administration for, to put it most plainly, acting as the enemies of free press and transparent government.

There is not much to add to this. She notes how the administration and complicit corporate masters in the newsroom exert a chilling influence over speech and press through a variety of methods, including dismissing real stories out of hand as merely fabrications, as they have done all along with Benghazi. It is a topic I discuss frequently here at the Right Scoop. When the White House doesn’t want something to exist, they simply pretend that it does not. And for most of the wimp media in America, that’s good enough for them.

No matter how much the disgusting and pathetic, mewling, bowing and scraping bootlickers at MSNBC try to pathetically claim otherwise, no matter how much fake organizations with fake websites and fake missions like Media Matters attempt to silence opposition, no matter how hard Hollywood and race-baiters and demagogues try to divert attention, things like Benghazi and Fast & Furious and the IRS scandal and the disastrous Obamacare debacles are REAL controversies, they are REAL problems, and most importantly and pertinently of all, THEY ARE REAL NEWS.

Like CNN dodging the Leland Yee story, the only people who don’t think these obvious news stories are, in fact, news, are the people who are too busy crawling up the President’s colon to have any perspective.

So, what you are saying is... That she is the master journalist and not 1 person at Fox News can provide any hard evidence of a scandal? But she sure as hell can all by herself?

Makes as much sense as tits on a bull.

Only when people try to say stupid things like that 1 person, in all of the US, can find a scandal on Obama. Yet no one else can... and that's why she was fired.

If there was a scandal and there was evidence, Fox News would have had it a long time ago. The only thing that's a partial scandal in my eyes is Benghazi, but we will never know what actually happened.

Associated Press Says Obama Media Muzzling at All-Time High

Added by Michael Cantrell on March 17, 2014.

President Obama once said that he was going to have the most transparent administration in presidential history, but according to a report by the Associated Press, media muzzling is at an all-time high. It seems that rather than opening the doors for the public to see what their elected officials are up to in Washington, the political powers-that-be have decided there is a lot about government business the American people do not need to know.

According to the Associated Press, the number of legal exemptions cited for withholding information has risen dramatically in the past year, and the Obama administration has refused to turn over files a record number of times. The Associated Press said that much of the information that has been requested is of high value, which is why they believe people have a right to know about it. The analysis also contained evidence that many of the government organizations approached by the media were in no hurry to answer requests.

The Associated Press report states that the government withheld information 8,496 times, which is strong proof that muzzling the media is definitely at an all-time high, and seems to insinuate that the Obama administration is concerned about certain pieces of data getting into the hands of the public. But the censorship does not end there.

Much of the material that has been turned over to the media by the government has been heavily redacted, with whole paragraphs of information missing.

Granted, one can understand why personal information such as phone numbers and addresses would be removed from sensitive materials, but why, if transparency is a major priority, would so much material be removed from the files? Of course, the materials are primarily censored due to “national security” reasons, as cited by the government, but what exactly constitutes a matter of national security? Who decides what those standards are?

One of the most important reasons for the existence of the media and organizations like the Associated Press is to help hold the government accountable for its actions. When things are done under cover of shadow, it is much easier for the government to get away with violating the constitutional rights of the American people. A good example of this is the NSA spying scandal. Millions of people have had their Fourth Amendment right violated by the government without their consent or knowledge, under the guise of “national security.” These activities were conducted in secret, and until information was leaked to the media, no one knew they were being spied on and being treated as terrorists and criminals.

The First Amendment of the Constitution guarantees the right to free speech and freedom of the press. These rights are a key part of the foundation that makes a free society. When the government tries to control the flow of information its citizens receive, it almost always means something dirty is being covered up, and what is being hidden from the public is typically a trampling of their civil liberties. Government-controlled media and information is the hallmark of a fascist society, not one that encourages and celebrates liberty and personal responsibility.

Hopefully, actions will be taken to discourage the Obama administration from muzzling the media, and the free flow of information will be at an all-time high on the next Associated Press report.

I agree to an extent. But in terms of what happened that night in Benghazi, we know everything that happened. The questions we don't know are stuff like why the CIA was there, what they were doing, and the intricate details that we'll never know. Other than that, all other questions have been answered a million times. Now they are stuck with asking questions like "What was Obama doing that night?". Benghazi is one of the most embarrassing and made up scandals in the history of politics. Never seen people try so hard. And all the while they are disgracing the fallen, the military, etc... all in their witch hunt to get Obama. It's sickening.

Four weeks ago, former CBS News Investigative Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson resigned from her position after 20 years at the network

The stupid thing about this, is CBS did run a story about Benghazi. A story that Fox News even used to claim that the mainstream media is finally "seeing it". Then couple days after that, they embarrassingly had to recant the story because the core of their story was from a chronic liar with a horrible reputation. Made CBS look like fools. Just like most who try to uncover some kind of "conspiracy" out of this story.
