My system: Ultimately it deals with value, match ups, spot, and perception.

This year I'll be posting my units only to avoid confusion. I'm personally betting my 2* at $500, 1* at $250, .5* at $125 etc.this season.

2*= strong play
1*= medium play
5/.25*= Small plays

Week 2

2* Oregon -10 -105 (Greek)
2* LSU -14 -110 (Greek)

Rest will be posted Friday between 11pm-2am est

Don't like playing totals but for those that do the over looks really good tonight in UM/FSU. Miami is missing key 2 starters on defense, a couple back ups and both offenses looked really good in practice.

VOR, sorry you've had a rough start....but it gives me some solice as I'm down as well.....

GL w/ your picks. I'm staying away from FSU/Miami. Until one of these two teams decide they want to play real football like they used to I'm going to lay off in week 1......

yeah it was tough, Penn State having covered the spread at the half (31-0) and then go scoreless in the 2nd half was an indicator for things to come on Saturday. No excuses though gonna keep doing what I do.

Same here, good luck bud :toast:

Great spot, value, favorable match up=2 unit play

Same goes for LSU game, they will squash Vandy like a bug.

At least one of these games will be won in the 20's.

I don't think LSU will cover this game. Their defense seems to be subpar in week one. Their zone defense vs washington was terrible and they weren't able to contain the mobile qb in Locker. I see it being another defensive struggle for LSU this game as vandy's qb is pretty mobile himself. I am unsure of the qb's accuracy but if its anywhere as good as Locker's, LSU defense will be in trouble. I think LSU will win this game because of their offense but I dont think they will cover.

I think you'll be bumming if you take Vandy +14 this coming weekend.

LSU traveled about 2500 miles this past weekend - it was the farthest roadtrip in their program. It was expected that they would be sleepwalking through their game vs. a fired up Washington team.

To compare Vandy sophmore QB Larry Smith to Washington junior Jake Locker is laughable. Locker is a legitimate NFL talent, while Smith is not (at this point).

I'm with VOR on this one. LSU will win comfortably, somewhere in the range of 21 to 28 points.

.25* Miami/FSU O47.5 -101 (Matchbook)

cant resist, know these teams well and can't see a low scoring affair here unless Miami goes conservative which I don't see happening if FSU starts to score.

That Oregon is looking pretty good. Only scored 8 last week and is laying 11 this week, hmm.

GL tonight. Getting my second look at Jacory...should be a good one.

azn: I appreciate you bringing up a counter argument to my play. Remember though your never as bad or good as your last game. This is where perception comes in and sometimes we have to look at all the factors that go into a teams performance. While evaluating these two teams I simply see huge mismatches in the trenches that favor LSU, coaches which will have their team focused for a home opener, and the weapons on offense to cover this spread. Does there pass defense worry me some yes, I'm not going to sit here and tell you otherwise but you have to consider they're not taking a cross country trip to start the season against a special kid like Locker. If LSU plays their B game they should be able to overwhelm Vandy. GL this week bud

Incubus: I really think we're getting huge value with Oregon this week and the line movement is a reflection of that. Just as with LSU they're pass defense was very medicore in their opener. I was not pleased on how Boise was able to pitch and catch. Now having said that Purdue's strength is their running game and thats something Oregon defends relatively well. I can get into all the other intangibles but just looking at this game from a pure match up standpoint I think Oregon can move the ball with more consistency than Purdue. Bottom line: Match up edge, home team, value, and good spot for a bounce back

Dave: Now you know why everyone transferred haha
