Turco 20-8-1 lifetime vs. the Sharks
Nabokov 10-16-3 lifetime vs. the Stars

Stars upset the Sharks in last seasons playoffs.

First game this season Sharks won 2-1 in SJ when Turco mishandled a puck late in a tie game.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP)—Patrick Marleau scored with 28.3 seconds to play when Marty Turco misplayed the puck in front of his own net, and the San Jose Sharks remained unbeaten in nine home games with a 2-1 victory over the Dallas Stars on Saturday night.

Dan Boyle also scored and backup goalie Brian Boucher made 23 saves to stay perfect as a starter with San Jose, but the NHL-leading Sharks’ seventh consecutive victory came down to a horrendous mistake by Turco, the veteran goalie whose puck-handling skills have long been criticized.

Turco easily stopped defenseman Brad Lukowich’s long dump-in shot for his 31st save, but the goalie then inexplicably attempted to backhand the puck up the middle of the ice. He hit Marleau on the skate, and the San Jose captain swatted it past the diving goalie for his seventh goal.

Dallas yet to win back to back games this season still. Is this when it ends?

I found this also interesting.

This rivalry has been bad-tempered for years, to the point where San Jose fans boo the word “star” when it’s sung in the national anthem. Those ill feelings seemed amplified in their first meeting this season, with Joe Thornton particularly irritated by Dallas’ stable of agitators, including Steve Ott, Mike Ribeiro and newcomer Sean Avery.

What are your guys thought on this one?

I'm took San Jose -140 as soon as it came out.

Going beyond the stat of Dallas failing to win two in a row since obtaining Brad Richards.....

Far too many key injuries for Dallas.

If you saw the end of that Minnesota game you know how lucky they were to come away with the victory and their faces showed it while "congratulating" Turco at it's conclusion. Wild hit a crossbar and post in the closing minute and the Stars held on. This is not a team of chemistry or confidence while San Jose certainly is.

I have no problem taking San Jose, and laying -140 on the road. Although I'm not a chase system believer I'd have no problem in going against Dallas against Edmonton next game if they do manage a victory tonight.

I am one that is having a hard time buying into Dallas being this bad. I give them credit for their comeback AT Minn last game. That last flurry against Marty were about the only chances the Wild had from about the mid point on. Should be a good game here.

Look at San Jose's schedule. They've won 5 in a row. This seems to be their toughest opponent in the next 5. If they win this one their in for some clear sailing after that. Although....@Phoenix the following evening after a big emotional win might seem like a more vulnurable spot to play against them.

Although sometimes a team needs a big emotional game to snap them out of their funk. Like Montreal the other day against Detroit. Montreal had been playing like shit then went into Detroit as -165 dogs and played their asses off.

But...your probably right. Dallas has a lot of key guys out. Ott, Lehtinen and Morrow are big shoes to fill against a very good team.

Going to be an interesting game, threw a little coin on the Sharks...hate to lay that much wood, especially on the road, but I think they'll pull out a W against an incomplete Stars-team. GL all!

Meant to also mention that SJ will also be in a 3/4 roadie tomorrow evening in Phoenix to add to that scenario.

Dallas sucks this season if they were'nt a good team the past 5 or 10 years the lines on they're games would be much higher. People look at dallas and still think they're good it has'nt sunk in yet that they're shit they're the worst defensive team in the league and below average offense. Also San Jose one of the best teams in hockey.

That being said anything thing can happen
