SAN ANTONIO — Shaquille O'Neal says his team got a good look at the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of their second-round playoff series. Next time the Lakers will be ready. Los Angeles shot poorly in the first half Sunday, staged a bold rally in the third quarter, then collapsed in the fourth in an 88-78 loss to the defending champion Spurs.

"This game was a 'feel-out' game so we know how the series is going to go," said O'Neal, who made only one basket and had no rebounds in the fourth quarter. "We'll go back home and review some tapes, practice on a few things and we'll be ready."

Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinal is Wednesday in San Antonio, with the Spurs going for their 17th straight win.

I think LA should have been looking at tapes before game 1.

He can look at himself not being able to cover Timmy on the pick and roll. Or he can look at the hired guns contributing nothing. Or he can look at Kobe freelancing after play breaks down. Maybe how they kept turning it over, trying to get it to him. Funny how Timmy says, they know us, we know them, are no secrets between us. It is just a matter of execution, in the 4th, hustle and defense. Pretty lame of Shaq, but what else can he say. Best Wsihes...OF

He can look at Kobes 3 turnovers and multiple bricks down the stretch, nobody on this team knows how to make a good entry pass.

The Glove (or any other Laker 1) have no shot of slowing down Tony Parker. Fronting Shaq with big (but slow) Rasho Nesterovic, and letting TD help worked great. I look for Manu Ginobili to step up his game on Wednesday. Another Spur cover.

The Lakers looked old in GM 1. Shaq does not look like the player he once was.

The Lakers best chance to win a game in this Series was #1. They could have caught Spurs rusty and out of sync after long lay-off. And they failed despite 9-21 by Spurs from Line.
Watching all the tape they want isn't going to make them any faster or less selfish.

It was a "feel out" game as Shaq said, in that the Lakers already must feel they are out of the series. They are just old, slow and in the way, and they can't play together, no chance they win the series.

Shaq says Lakers will be Ready for Game 2? Will he finally be ready to make free throws or is this just another BS line he is using. Damn what was he for the line 3-13. The Lakers can't even give him the ball down the stretch knowing he can shoot free throws worth shit if they foul him. Face it Laker fans it's over, San Anotonio is the new basketball dynasty in the NBA.

I would grab some minus 4 at best juice available tonight. Looks like this game is heading to consensus 4.5. Why should anything be much different tomorrow night? The Spurs are virtually unbeatable in San Antonio. Spurs win and cover again in game two.

you guys are jumping far off with these crazy conclusions. lakers are going to win this series. they will find a way. when it all boils down, kobe, shaq, malone, and payton have too much experience, and talent to lose.

i expect malone to play a huge game 2

Reminder - Spurs have not lost at home since March 1st (Grizzlies) that is 16 straight games. They have not lost anywhere since March 23rd (at Twolves) also 16 straight. They will continue thoses streaks tonight behind Tony parker and Tim Duncan et al. - lay the 4 for an easy cover.
