managers today have no instincts at all. starters go 100 pitches and that's it. it doesn't matter how well they are going, thus no starters ever build up their arms. relievers go one inning and that it - once again it doesn't matter how well they are doing.
does anyone remember the days when they had 4 man pitching staffs?? can you imagine a manager trying to do that today with today's pussy ass pitchers? sorry for the rant.
No they lost because K Yabu loaded the bases without getting anyone out.
Some guy comes in and gets a flyball to CF that Atkins doesnt try to score on...???.... Pinch Hitter Torrealba lifts a fly ball to Fred Lewis in LF who makes a great throw to the plate....little towards the mound but Molina catches it in the webbing, turns to tag, tags him on the knee before his foot gets down, umpire calls him out...I jump up in excitement that they got out of a huge jam....
Umpire realizes the ball is rolling around in front of home plate and calls him safe....so sick.
