Dislike a neighbor? All you have to do is mix up their garbage and the sweet smell of revenge can be yours.

a third citation by the garbage police can cost you $1000.

I guarantee this type of communism will be coming to Portland soon.

Francisco Plans To Inspect Residents' Garbage

Environment & The Green Beat

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) ― San Francisco residents could be fined and lose their garbage service if they don't sort their trash properly under a proposal by Mayor Gavin Newsom.

The plan would direct city garbage collectors to inspect residents trash to make sure various types of waste are placed in correct bins for recycling, composting and trash.

The proposed legislation by the city's Department of the Environment would be the nation's first mandatory recycling and composting law.

It's aimed at limiting the amount of food and foliage that goes into the city-contracted landfill in Alameda County and help San Francisco achieve its goal of zero waste by 2020.

My concern for the en vi ro ment has motivated me to lead by example in my neighborhood.

I let all my neighbors dump their lawn clippings and leaves in my garden...rather than relying on the large carbon footprint of collection and landfill.

Then ...along with the all the neighborhood childen we collect plastic bags, fill the bags with the leaves...and burn them.

Killing two birds with one stone...so to speak.

And the kids love the multi- colored flames from burning plastic with organic matter. It gives me the warm glow of accomplishment as I save the planet.

I then help them write reports to present in school on Earth Day...about our planet saving methods.

We all need to do our part...

recycling is a complete sham overall

its a lie to create jobs for no reason other than to have them

its another hidden "tax" on you and I

while many companies including big oil make more money off the lie

recycling for the most part is a complete waste of time and energy overall

only way for you to be "environmentally friendly" at a personal level is to stop consuming so much shit

It works quite well where I'm at, and is getting better all the time.

All you have to do is pull your finger out of your ass and pretend you're a responsible individual.

:grandmais

It becomes second nature after about a month, and fits remarkably easily into your lifestyle.

I'm happy for you. Can you accept that there are people that feel differently, and don't wish to live your lifestyle? Or perhaps you think that smart people like you should be able to tell everybody else how to live?

It's no different from picking up your litter, or taking your litter home kinda thing.

Now we sort it and recycle it, and it's actually remarkably easy once you get into the habit.

Believe me when I say I ain't no fucking treehugger either.
Its a kinda faggoty liberal thing that makes sense for once....once you start doing it.

You dont seem to understand, there are people in this world that feel differently, that feel recycling is an abomination, that feel it's a feel good fraud much like the scrap metal drives in WW11 that went straight to the dump.
Can you accept that you have no say - none whatsoever, about other peoples actions and beliefs?

If you want to be irresponsible about a simple way to improve things then that's your call.

The courts deal with irresponsible members of society every working day of the year.

more efficient to plant trees, chop them down, transport them, process them, and throw away using highly efficient free market systems? and just end it right there.....

or add in a loop where we now add city government into the mix to come and pick up the used paper (oil), re transport (oil), re process (oil), re deliver (oil)?

:grandmais

just for one example

It's like saying that traffic lights are a government interference, increasing oil use and pollution.

So off ya go and run some red lights, no-one can stop ya.

Ahh, I see, so you do think that you have the right to tell others how to live?
That, because you and a few others think that recycling is "easy" then therefore everyone should be forced to do it, under penalty of law.
That says an awful lot sir.
And I also see that no - you cant accept the fact that some people feel differently than you.

in the big cities congestion due to highway infrastructure not keeping up with demand causes higher rates of oil consumption/pollution as well

Recycling is a seriously underused asset in society, especially for stuff like plastics.

Your REAL problem is you'll have to pull your finger out a teeny bit.

Like I've already said.
It's actually a doddle once you start doing it.

do you understand the basic principle of an energy balance?

i mean shit like aluminum and stuff like that is worthwhile

but as far as paper just throw it away recycled paper is a waste and environmentally unfriendly

its kinda like the dumbasses that thought ethanol from corn was such a great idea

its just a sham to create jobs.....and rapes us the average joe overall....another "tax" if you will

on top of the fact its not saving us carbon emmisions either...

industrialization will lead to more pollution and toll on the environment......nothing that "recycling" will ever do to stop this

if the world ever wants a cleaner environment than they better be ready to stop consuming so much stuff

Yup, its laughable, alot of people spend time rinsing bottles and cans before they recycle them and they think they are helping. they have no understanding of the amount of energy used to get the water purified and delivered to them not to mention the water itself.
many municipalities offer plastic recycling to their residents, but dont tell them that most of that plastic has no market and is trucked straight to the landfill - it doesnt matter to the liberals though, reality doesnt matter, only a positive mindset matters.

Libs are so freakin stoopid about this...

And who needs an extra set of trucks spewing black smoke around the neighborhood...waking everybody up.

It couldn't be more inefficient...just feels good to the ignorant.
