During a game these kids are representing their university and they have no right to stage a protest. Ignorant kids disrespecting the flag and the anthem. All they accomplish is pissing people off. If this shit starts at college, I wont watch.

What actual things?

Please tell me you aren't one of those people that incorrectly believe they are protesting against America or something like that?

The protests are against the injustices in America.

If you think the country is in bad shape because of some harmless kids counterprotesting and THAT'S the reason we need to go communist for a year

Exactly, they don't even know what they are protesting.

If you were to poll the majority of kneelers on the spot and ask them why they are protesting, you would get different, clueless answers.

Also, the only injustice going on these days is people like this being allowed to continuously stir the racial pot.

Are you in Canada?

If so, then you know first hand you guys don't have to deal with the nonsense there.

Europe doesn't have to deal with it.

Everyone gets along for the most part.

It's only here.

And do you know what I laugh at?

The Caucasian players who kneel alongside African-Americans.

Why?

Because at 6yrs old I grew up in the 'section'.

From kindergarten all the way to high school all of my friends were black.

My dad passed away, my mother slept all days due to depression and meds, and since i had no neighbors, i basically lived with my best friends who were African-American.

The closest I had to a father was their dad. When they got a spanking, I did too.

I played sports and became very good at them, I spoke the lingo, everyone knew me in the area.

I knew what it was like to REALLY like to live amongst and one of the black community.

They were my family.

So today when I see or hear some white kid calling a black guy 'Nigga', or thinking he's gaining some friendship by kneeling with them, I laugh inside as they don't know how ignorant they look. They think they are blending in. They think they are earning respect. They truly don't know how foolish they look as they have no understanding of what it is to be black or be deeply entrenched in their heritage.

My wife is of color and my kids are mixed.
I have seen things from all sides my entire life.

I can tell you that back then, things were worse than they are today, when you are talking race discrimination.

We have progressed & moved forward.

Well, we had, until Obama came along and divided us.

Now we are going backwards again, because of fabrications.

It truly is a mess what this has all turned into and unfortunately it will not get better with the thinking of the youth today.

Can you protest at work? I can’t.

Just because your job doesn't want you to protest, doesn't mean you can't do it. Your employer may be able to discipline you for protesting, but you can definitely do it.

In this case, I don't think there are any rules outlined in the NCAA stating that you can't take a knee during the anthem. And if there are rules with it, they will obviously deal with the consequences but I think it shows guts to do it even if there will be consequences.

I also think my employer would understand the reasoning behind me taking a stance like this and support it rather than immediately assuming that I am disrespecting the country - which isn't being done (not saying you have made this point, but plenty of others seem to think that)

I'm in my mid 40's & I'm white......are you racist against white people? Are you a liberal snowflake? Oh how proud you must be........

No, I am just pointing out that it is mostly older white males who get very upset about this kind of thing.

I support the decision to protest and don't get so easily offended when people do things I don't agree with.

Schools can absolutely require athletes to stand.

What’s the stance? Against what and what does a protest of the National Anthem have to do with anything?

And sure, you can protest all day at work. If you want a job the next day, probably not a good idea.

Apparently, the guys protesting the National Anthem were upset another protest group was protesting near the Ole’ Miss campus. What does this other group protesting have to do with the National Anthem? Can someone explain this to me?

I say fuck the people that support these idiots that have no idea why they are kneeling. The same liberal pussies that are always on the wrong side of what is right.

Except the Vietnam war was a real war where 50,000 young American men lost their lives.

What war are these "social justice" warriors protesting? How many of their fellow men have lost their lives to this fictional war?
