Several Bookmakers Collude Because They Can't Compete With Pinnacle...

Several prominent offshore sports books have decided not to do transfers with Pinnacle any longer...

Why, you might ask???

The reason these bookmakers are colluding in this manner is because they can't compete with Pinnacle when it comes to volume...

For example, when a Football game is at minus 4 everywhere, and Pinnacle offers the gambler minus $1.05 on each side, most customers will bet with Pinnacle whether they like the Dog or the Favorite...

So, since these sports books are writing less tickets, they have decided to join together to try and hurt Pinnacle by not doing transfers with them...

In my opinion, they are shooting themselves in the rear end and acting retarded....

Enough said...

Money transfers are a convenience, not a requirement or need. I don't see how any harm is being done here in the longrun to Pinnacle. Seems kind of odd. Ok, so I cant do a transfer, so I send the money myself, maybe withdrawing from the very book who denies the transfer.

i think they are trying to apply the "your money is stuck here until you lose it" school of thinking. It may not be an ethical nor a wise one, but it is a form of customer protection. i know you can still withdrawl, but they will still get enough people that say "I cant transfer it? ok screw it, put it on the bears"

only for weaklings

I don't know which books are involved, but whoever they are, they are weaklings.

Collusion is no substitute for competition. If all the other Formula 1 drivers collude to block Schumacher, it still does not make him the number 2 driver in the world.

Both the books & the drivers would be better employed raising their own standard.

Olympic and Cris are the 2 main ones that Shrink is talking about. Hardly "weaklings"

We don't do business with those countries that have "weapons of mass destruction".

I know I heard that somewhere. They won't let the inspectors do their job!

i suppose it would get on my nerves if enough ppl kept asking for a transfer to the same book. . .same way it got on small business's nerves when everyone kept going to walmart. I know I'm in the minority but I kind of see it the books way.

seriously. youre a manager and you look at the list of transfers for the week and it reads: pinnacle, pinnacle, pinnacle, pinnacle, pinnacle, bodog, pinnacle, pinnacle, pinnacle,
pinnacle, hollywood, pinnacle, pinnacle, pinnacle. . .youd consider putting your foot down also.

I too have heard the same thing and its complete Garbage what these books are trying to pull. The supposed Big Boys in the Industry are getting a little annoyed that Pinnacle is getting all the buisness. This reminds me of the Bookmakers Summit in 1999 in Costa Rica where CRIS was trying to get all the Don Best screen books to conform to a 20 cent line in Baseball. Its a little ridiculous if you ask me, if you want to compete then offer better prices, if you dont want to compete forget about that market. CRIS and OLY were offering a 20 cent line in bases and writing no buisness and Pinny comes along and offers a 7 cent line and blows everyone away and now people are ticked off. Everyone plays at Pinny and they will continue to play there, these books are trying to make it difficult to get money to Pinny when people will play there no matter what they try to do. Bad moves by 2 great books. Let me go on record and say CRIS and OLY are as good as you can get but they are very wrong in this situation!

there is no law that says books have to do business with each other........

at least Shrink didnt say the stopped doing transfers with pinny cause they are broke.........

"cant compete with pinny when it comes to volume"

volume on what??? football....soccer.....baskets...what???

right now pinny is showing 6-15...........CRIS, OLY, and most other books are showing 6

btw.....i guess college football doesnt count since pinny is one of the few that doesnt have lines up yet....

now dont think for a minute i am bashing pinny........i am not........just trying to show how SHRINK'S example is retarded

It was stupid to offers transfers to begin with. Does your Sears card work at Circuit City?

And what idiot would be dissuaded from moving money when Neteller exists?

imo......SHRINK is giving a bogus example of why CRIS and OLY are no longer doing transfers with Pinny...

"because they are writing less tickets"

because pinny offers -05 on a game when everybody else is carrying 10cent vig...????

if they offered -05 on every game every day........then yes maybe..(dont forget the pecent of gamblers who dont know about reduced vig, far outnumber the ones that do)

make the argument that Pinny dominates the "computer crowd"...people that place wagers by computer only......yes they have that market cornered.

affecting CRIS AND OLY at the bottom line???

no way

This is facicous, but I would personally be happy to see Pinny go out of business. They kick my ass in the worst way. Over my life, I must have made about 20 deposits with them without any withdrawals.

On the other hand, I have done very well with the "second tier" books that now refuse to transfer with Pinny. So I am all for them doing what they can to freeze Pinny out and keep their losing customers playing there.

This reminds me of when the company was small and everyone worked together and times were fun. As it got bigger the times changed and it became all corporate and things tend to change as more head guys arise and less person to person cooperation exists and one on one communication becomes non available because there are to many head guys.

Welcome to corporate business.

dimeplayers,

It is one thing to choose not to do business with a sports book, but quite another issue when you COLLUDE to get others to do the same thing in an attempt to damage them ...

i can understand players that would be unhappy with this situation (customer comes first...is a valid response)

but guys...book to book transfers develop out of a courtesy between books and usually from a business relationship........ie. lay-off

in the booking business NOTHING IS FREE.......

what pisses me off is SHRINK trying to turn people away from good books because he has a "book of the week" deal with pinny..........<TABLE class=tborder cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=6 width="100%" align=center border=0><TBODY><TR vAlign=top><TD class=alt2 width=175>THE SHRINK<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_1538322", true); </SCRIPT>

Dimeplayer, you have many mistakes in your posts and you obviously dont know Pinny that well.

PINNY DOES OFFER -105 ON ALL GAMES EVERY DAY!

"right now pinny is showing 6-15...........CRIS, OLY, and most other books are showing 6

Pinny lines you see on Dbest have no bearing what the are using on the site and if they are using 6-115 then the dog would be +6 +05 which u are betting the dog u will bet nowhere but Pinny(Thats where it DOES affect thier bottom line). The do have CFB lines up already and not only are they up but they also have ALL TOTALS ON EACH GAME UP ALREADY!!!
