Anyone here an expert on freshwater aquariums? I am looking at a 20-gallon tank but I'm not sure what I need in terms of chemicals and testing equipment. Googling around gives me unclear/mixed results. Here is what I have on the list:

20 gallon tank (comes with LED light hood, heater, and filter)
25 lb bag gravel

Tetra Safe-Start Plus
All-in-one water conditioner
Tetra Easy Balance plus (is this redundant?)
API Freshwater Master Test Kit (is this all I need for testing?)
Net
Algae Scrubber
Tank plants (fake), other decorations

Does this cover it, minus the fish?

Get the water stabilized for three or four days before you bring fish into the aquarium. The water will go through an initial shock until normal bacteria grow. If you don't, the first generation of fish will go into water with no bacteria, create their own and die from the shock of the change.

That's what the Tetra Safe-Start is for. It's supposed to make it so you don't have to wait.

Oh ok I misread it. There are fresh water sharks but I heard they arent true sharks. Whatever that means.
