Report: Seton Hall's Hazell shot near Harlem home
New York, NY (Sports Network) - Seton Hall star Jeremy Hazell reportedly suffered a minor gunshot wound early Sunday morning near his Harlem home.
The New York Post is reporting that the shooting occurred after an argument that took place outside of his residence at the Carver Houses. Hazell was shot in the lower back on his right side and was released after being treated at a local hospital.
Police indicate the incident took place shortly before 3 a.m.
Hazell suffered a broken bone in his left wrist in a November 19 game against Alabama and had surgery earlier this month to repair the injury.
The 6-foot-5 shooting guard, who opted to return to school for his senior season and bypass the NBA Draft, averaged 24 points in the first three games of the season.
