MLB Freebie for April 19th

Free picks are 55-36 (+33.83 units) in 2004. They are currently 13-5 last 18.

Free 1-unit MLB Freebie for April 19th:

Take San Diego/San Francisco Over 8.5 runs at -110

Both pitchers have at least a 6.00 ERA to start the season and I don't see things improving in this one. Wells is either on or he's way off, there doesn't seem to be a middle ground with him. He did great aginst these Giants in his first start of the season but now that the Giants offense has seen him, I expect he'll have a far harder time keeping them from scoring in this one. Willaims has pitched well historically against the Padres but he's shown signs here in the early season of not having his best stuff and thus the Over is the play in this one as both pitchers will struggle hard.

Vegas Expert: Bryan Leonard
Game: Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians Apr 19 2004 7:05PM
Prediction: over

Reason: The Tigers have vastly improved their run production this season with the additions of Fernando Vina (.289), Pudge Rodriguez (.364), Carlos Guillen (.289) and Rondell White (.297, 2 HRs). Detroit is averaging close to 6 runs per game on the road. They should be able to score some runs here, but so will their opponent, because Detroit sends wild Nate Roberson to the mound (8 walks in 11 innings). You don't want to walk batters in Jacobs Field. Cleveland is also getting fine offensive production from such young talents as Jody Gerut (.288, 8 walks), Casey Blake (.294), and Travis Hafner (4 HRs, .350). Cleveland is averaging just over 5 runs per game at home. Cleveland righty Jeff D'Amico has not had much success as a starter the last three seasons, going 16-30 with a 5.14 ERA. In a game that could feature plenty of offense, play the over.
