Purdue at Notre Dame (-4.5, )
We have one team (Notre Dame) playing its best basketball of the year, and we have another squad playing horrible (Purdue).
Gene Keady's club beat Duke back in late November. But in recent weeks, this team went in the toilet. It had its NCAA hopes on the line in four critical games and went 0-4 both SU and ATS in those outings. The Boilermakers went to Wisconsin with an opportunity to impress the Selection Committee with a quality win. As a nine-point underdog, Purdue got smoked on Senior Day in Madison, falling by an 82-46 count.
After losing back-to-back games at home following the Wisconsin debacle, the Boilers had a chance at redemption in the Big Ten tourney. Instead of atoning for their poor play, the Boilers lost outright to Minnesota by double digits as seven-point favorites.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame has covered the spread in seven of 10 games. The Irish have adjusted to life without Torin Francis by shooting the ball from the perimeter more and this has worked thanks to the stellar guard play from Chris Thomas and Chris Quinn. The Irish should win by double digits..
Air Force at N. Carolina (-7.5, )
Major talent gap here. Air Force will have to shoot a great percentage from 3-point land to keep this close. I just feel the Tar Heels have too much athleticism for the Falcons..
