Wednesday's Selections .... NOTE:

This is a great money making day. The Wedneday college basketball card. Have to take advantage of it. Simple as that.

It's so important to build the bankroll on days when the opportunity for mistakes by Vegas is plentiful.

Those mistakes usually happen on Wednesday and Saturday. I have found one for today.

Now time to go make some money tonight.

30 DIME - TEXAS A&M AGGIES

Talk about a spot for revenge. Tonight at the Reed Arena watch the Aggies crush an Oklahoma State team that is primed for a letdown after defeating Kansas over the weekend. ( That win over the Jayhawks came at home, on the road it has been a different story for Okie State, as State is just 2-6 ATS on the road their last 8 games.

Texas A&M lost 76-69 at Stillwater on January 27th. In that game Travis Ford's team hit a dozen 3-pointers in the win, as they shot almost 60% for the game. They do that again at College Station, and I will tip my hat and take my loss like a man. For my money, that won't happen on the road, and on senior night.

A&M is 14-1 SU at home; the only loss coming against then No. 1 Kansas, a game the Aggies collapsed late and should have really won in retrospect. They've covered 8 straight in their gym, blowing out Texas on Saturday by 16 points - the same Texas team that beat Oklahoma State in the Cowboys' last road game in Austin by 10.

I will lay the points tonight, and watch as the Aggies get their in-season revenge in convincing fashion as they beef up their tournament resume.

Thunder and Points, Suns to Cover, no D in the Big Apple!

Posted on March 3, 2010 by ThisProGambler
We were reminded on the GRAPEVINE last night (thanks blaze) that underdogs getting between 11.5 and 13.5 points have posted a record of 37 wins ATS up against 8 losses! Yeah, that’s over 82%! Well, for those of you who like to play those numbers this is a hell of a night! Three of the 12 NBA games tonight came out with double-digit points; 2 more are at 9 and 9.5!
And, while I’m talking about the GRAPEVINE, last night we had the most helpful and informative discussion yet from other handicappers who are sharing their insights with those of you following This Pro Gambler’s Blog. We added hockey to the basketball mix, and came out with a number of good plays. Overall, the basketball picks on the GRAPEVINE went 9-4. I found three CBB games from the GRAPEVINE that were all winners (Villanova, Vanderbilt, and Marquette). So, if you haven’t, join in.
The numbers I’m putting up on This Pro Gambler’s Blog are rather unbelievable, and I’ve pointed out in several Posts that these are not the long-term numbers to expect. But, it is what it is. I picked only one game last night; it was a winner. I’m 5-1 since Sunday, and 52-17 since starting the Blog. It’s not as good as the 11 Point dogs, but it is 75%! Tonight, I’m playing 3 more NBA games hoping to keep the streak alive.

Take the Oklahoma City Thunder +6 1/2 at Denver Nuggets.
In 2010, the Thunder have been beat by more than six points on only 2 occasions. They have a winning record on the road ( 17-12), play well Against the Spread on the Road (66%), and play well as an underdog (winning ATS 5 out of the last 6 times they’ve been a dog) – they come into this game having won 8 of their last 10. It’s a young group that stays focused on the game at hand (and they have Kevin Durant!). The line at 6 1/2 Points has already been adjusted for the fact that they are playing back to back games. But, all three times the Thunder played back to back since January 1, the result of the first game has dictated the result of the second. They are catching the Denver Nuggets at a vulnerable time. The luster has faded from the Nuggets with straight losses to two of the West’s top-tier teams. They let the Lakers come back and win a game on Sunday that Denver had put away. They followed that up by not competing in the game with the Suns. Now they’re back home with this the first of a three game homestand. In their last 10 games, the Nuggets are 5-5 SU and 4-4-2 ATS. My expectations for Nuggets remain high; just not for tonight against the point spread. Take the Thunder +6 1/2.

Take the Phoenix Suns -3.5 at Los Angeles Clippers.
Somebody’s streak is going to be broken. The Phoenix Suns have won 6 of their last 7 (they lost by 3 at San Antonio). The Los Angeles Clippers have won 4 straight home games. I’m betting on the Suns keep it going. Since the trade deadline passed and trade rumors died away, Amare Stoudemire has joined with Steve Nash to put this team on course to challenge the Big 4 in the West (OK, at least three of them – Denver, Dallas, and Utah). During this stretch Grant Hill, Jason Richardson, and Robin Lopez (can you believe this kid!) have all taken turns with Stoudemire and Nash for high point honors. It’s been impressive watching the Clippers continue to play hard after it became clear Blake Griffin was not going to see action this year and the towel was thrown in with the trade of Marcus Canby. But, even when this Clipper team had more talent, the Suns owned them, winning all three games this year, most recently a 125-112 game in Phoenix last Friday. The line on that game was -9. With the move to the Staples Center the line has moved all the way to -3 1/2 (Yes, the Suns beat the Clippers by only 2 points in LA back in October, but those were two very different teams). Take the Suns -3 1/2.

Take Over 204 in the Detroit Pistons v. New York Knicks Game.
Since the Knicks “reorganized” they haven’t participated in a game that’s gone under this total except for the 83-67 stinker vs the Milwaukee Bucks where Tracy McGrady went 6 for 17. In their four games since the Bucks game, the New York Knicks have averaged 107 Points a game, while giving up 118. The Detroit Pistons have a ow season average for points scored, but that’s largely because their offense has spent most of the season in the infirmary. The team is whole again and, as they showed in giving the Celtics all they wanted last night, is scoring. True, this is a “back to back” and there will be some fatigue, but that’s likely to show up more on defense than offense. This is the time of year when two teams that have nothing left to play for find their individual players trying to put up numbers. Take the Over 204 in Pistons/Knicks Game.
