Big 10 Tournament

PURDUE (+9.5) over Wisconsin
1 p.m. ET
We hit our fourth-straight free-game winner here yesterday with Arkansas and today we grab the points with Purdue in Big 10 Tournament play. The Badgers are not a team you want to be laying a big price with right now. The team is just 2-10 ATS in its last 12 games when priced as a favorite of 9 points or more and it is almost locked in as a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament so there isn’t a ton of motivation here. Purdue, meanwhile, needs to avoid being blown out if it wants to punch a ticket to the Big Dance and the Boilermakers have been a money maker in Big 10 play (14-4 ATS) and as an underdog (9-2 ATS) this season. Take those points!

Welcome to Ecks & Bacon for Saturday, March 14, 2015 (aka Chalk/Benjamin Lee Eckstein)

Davidson -2

Giving the A-10 my undivided attention and taking Davidson -2 points over Virginia Commonwealth. We made a case against VCU yesterday, and will make another one today. The Rams have covered only one of the last seven, and just don't seem to have the magic that Shaka Smart's teams usually can tap into. The Wildcats, despite a life and death struggle with LaSalle, a 67-66 win, are, as Dan Patrick would say, EN FUEGO. They come in on a gorgeous 10-0 run, and have covered NINE, which at 90%, is some SERIOUS CASH. These teams split during the regular season, with VCU winning at home, 71-65, and the 'Cats crushing down in North Carolina, 82-55. Gimme half a Benjamin on Davidson.
