Another Dog, another thriller tonight in California. Once again the wrong team is favored. Going with the Healthier and rested visitors who will control the ball all night and keep the Bulldogs potent offense off the field.

The Wolfpack come in 4-4 and off a bye week. Just what the doctor ordered to shore up their torched secondary which allows over 300 ypg. No wonder they rank 3rd in the Nation in rush defense allowing just 69 ypg. Although most teams pass against this secondary, it is getting healthier and the rush defense is actually pretty good. That bodes well tonight against a banged up rush attack of the Bulldogs that rushed for just 50 yards last week against a very week LaTech rush defense. The Bulldogs still do not know who will be their starting abcks tonight. If they can't run the ball and keep Kaepernick off the field, it will be a long night in Fresno.

Although the Wolfpack rush for over 300 yards per game, they still have a potent passing game as well as this team comes in averaging over 500 ypg offense. They are led by QB Kaepernick who is 1st in the WAC and 16th in the Nation in total offense. A duel threat at 60% completions and 8 ypc. If he is not running for 100 yards, then Vai Taua is. He comes in averaging 115 ypg on the ground. I fully expect the Wolfpack to run all night especially since LATECH ran all over fresno last wek for 280 yards and an upset win. Add in the Nevada option they have instilled and Fresno will not see the ball much. Fresno may be forced to score on almost every possession and I can't see this happening with their QB and the Wolfpacks secondary's ability to take a pick once in a while.

This Fresno defense started out on fire in September with 2 great games against rice and Wisconsin. However, since then they have allowed at least 28 points a game. Nevada averages over 40 ppg the last 2 months. Should be a fun and explosive night.
