COLTS +4
I have a good write-up for this game, from research that I have done on my own.. and I figured I would share it with the forum because someone could possibly use it with making their pick tonight. I for one will say I do follow touts occasionally when I feel they actually make some sense. Here is why I like the Colts tonight:
The Colts need this game more than the Titans do, because even if the Titans lose this game outright they will be in first place. It's going to make alot more sense for the NFL as a league for the Colts to win this game, to make things interesting enough for ratings and the fans. The Titans are due a bad game, and the Colts are due a good game! I couldn't tell you how much times I've seen the clearly better defense get destroyed by a offense with fire power. Manning isn't your average QB! This guy knows how to get the job done when it matters the most, he's been in clutch situations before. Look at what the Colts offense did to the Baltimore defense.. and Baltimore I believe might have been ranked #1 in the league at the time.. but don't quote me on that. Kerry Collins has played smart football thus far because of the above average running offense that the Titans have. Take away that running offense and you'll have Vince Young back in at QB. C. Johnson and L. White are coming off amazing performances last week, and only sets them up for a let down game today. P. Manning is coming off one of his worse days as a pro, and only sets him up for a dominating performance tonight, on the primetime stage. The public will be all over the Titans in this matchup.. don't be the public today! If the oddsmakers really believed that the Titans are the better team and wanted them to cover, this line would be -5.5 to -6.5, Take the Atlanta @ Philly game for example... the average bettor would of took Atlanta because of how they have been playing and all the points they were getting. The smart bettor would of took Philly. Tonight.. it looks obvious to take the Titans, but the smart bettor will take the Colts.
Inside the numbers.. the Titans are 6-0 SU & ATS.. it's very hard for a team to start the season off 7-0.. even harder to start the season off 7-0 ATS. Tell me the Titans aren't due a loss ATS atleast? Your backing a good team.. it's not like I'm amping up someone to take the Lions or Bengals tonight! P. Manning has shined his L5 MNF games. Here are his numbers: 117/167 for 1298 YDS. 12 TD, 3 INTS 109.3 QB Rating 5-0 SU record. Wayne and Harrison have a combined 10 TD's together in their L5 MNF games. The Titans are 2-3 as a team their L5 MNF games scoring 154 PTS. and allowing 148 PTS. while the Colts are 5-0 scoring 174 PTS. and allowing only 79 PTS.
Last 4 meetings head-to-head (bottom team is home team):
TITANS 16
COLTS 10
COLTS 22
TITANS 20
TITANS 20
COLTS 17
TITANS 13
COLTS 14
That's some pretty close games. I strongly feel it would be best to take the points tonight and enjoy your money coming in. We haven't had a OT game recently in the NFL, so even if this one for into OT you have the advantage because of the +4 (unless a TD is scored of course). I'm ignoring the touts today and nailing this one on my own.. I hoped you enjoyed reading and consider what I'm trying to say..
If the Rams could beat the Redskins and Cowboys back-to-back, if Minnesota could upset the Saints on MNF, if the Browns could upset the Giants on MNF, then the Colts can upset the Titans tonight as 4 point underdogs. And remember, the favorite won last Monday Night and covered, tonight it's the dogs turn!
Good luck everyone and enjoy the game!
