2* Jacksonville

RATING 2 JACKSONVILLE (+3) over Houston

MONDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2008
HOUSTON (-3) Jacksonville (48½) 7:35 PM
The Jaguars had a nightmare start last week with two early fumbles.
Jacksonville moved the ball effectively but could not make up the deficit.
Houston won last week despite scoring just 16 points but the Texans lost
to Jacksonville earlier this season and the Jaguars have actually won
three of the last four road games with two of those wins against playoff
contenders. Houston is 0-3 ATS the last three at home and the defense
can not be trusted, allowing nearly 27 points per game. JAGS BY 7

MARC LAWRENCE PLAYBOOK

Monday, December 1st
HOUSTON over Jacksonville by 6
On the surface this certainly looks like the right spot to ask the Jaguars to
snap their losing ways. The problem, though, is they are playing rotten
football while the Texans are still fl ying under the radar, having outgained
8 of their last 9 opponents. Houston has also been the breadwinner in this
series, going 7-2 ATS the last 9 games, including 5-1 ATS as a host. Toss in a measure of revenge from a 30-27 overtime loss earlier this year and it will be no surprise to us when Jack drops to 2-6 ATS in its last eight Monday night appearances. Houston, we’ve got no problem with you.

NORTHCOAST POWERSWEEP

Jacksonville at HOUSTON - The Jaguars needed OT to beat the Texans 30-27 & failed to cover as a 7 pt HF dropping to 3-10 ATS vs them. HOU held RB’s Jones-Drew & Taylor to 56 yds rushing (3.3) but gave up a 41 yd TD run via a direct snap on a fake punt for JAX’s 1st score. Both teams will go all out here as this HOU’s only primetime game TY & will have some momentum after getting their 1st road win in over a year LW. JAX is playing for pride after injuries derailed what was expected to be a playoff run in 2008 & this will be the Jaguars playoff game. Call for tonight’s Marquee Play on the Total at 1-900-438-9467 for just $15 after 3:00 pm ET. Currently Monday Totals Plays are 6-1 L/7W!!!

THE GOLD SHEET EXTRA

J’VILLE-HOUSTON “OVER”
It’s not hard to identify the predominant “totals” pattern in
Houston Texans games. It’s “over”, which is how we’re
recommending this Monday’s game against the Jacksonville
Jaguars. The Texans are “over” 9 of 11 this season, 6 of their
last 7 at Reliant Stadium, and “over” 22-9-1 their last 32 games
since latte in the ‘06 campaign. The last three meetings vs. the
Jags have gone “over” as well. And J’ville has an “over” trend of
its own on the road, standing 11-2 “over” its last 13 as a visitor!

TECHNICIAN'S CORNER

JACKSONVILLE at HOUSTON (Monday, December 1)...Houston
“over” 22-9-1 last 32 since late ‘06. Last three “over” in series.
Texans have covered 5 of last 6 hosting Jags. Tech edge-“Over”
and Texans, based on “totals” and series trends.

Gold Sheet NFL

MONDAY, DECEMBER 1

*HOUSTON 31 - Jacksonville 23—Jags only 1-5 vs. spread in trips to
Houston. And Jacksonville is only a shell of its 2007 physically-dominating self, with its OL interior crippled with injuries and its defense lacking LY’s chemistry and intimidation. Although Sage Rosenfels (2 more ints. last week) not as reliable as Matt Schaub, his supporting cast of rookie RB Steve Slaton (774 YR), and receivers Andre Johnson (81 recs.), Kevin Walter (47) and Owen Daniels (48) is far better balanced than that of the Jags. Houston “over” 9-2 TY; 13-3 last 16. CABLE TV—ESPN (08-JACK. 30-Hou. 27 (OT)...H.23-21 J.25/139 H.23/79 H.29/40/0/307 J.23/32/0/236 J.0 H.0) (07-JACK. 37-Hou. 17...J.25-23 J.26/244 H.24/61 H.30/43/1/329 J.22/34/0/213 J.3 H.2) (07-HOU. 42-Jack. 28...J.24-19 H.34/170 J.23/96 J.25/39/0/285 H.11/18/1/120 H.0 J.1) (08-JACK. -7 30-27 (OT); 07-JACK. -6' 37-17, HOUSTON -6' 42-28...SR: Houston 7-6)

POINTWISE

Monday Dec 1, 2008

HOUSTON 24 - Jacksonville 23 - (8:35 - ESPN) -- First Monday Night Game ever for the Texans, who buried Denver, 31-13, in a Thursday Night slot last yr. Houston snapped its 8-game road slide, with 5 takeaway effort at Cleveland, which is surely alien, since the Texans had an NFL-worst minus 13 TOs entering that contest. Both teams are hanging by a thread in Wild Card hunt (4-7), with the Jags losing 4 of their last 5. In off bazaar opening vs Vikes, fumbling on first play, & ensuing KO. The dog is 12-2-1 ATS in J'Ville games, & Jags are 12-3 ATS as division RDs. And Houston is 9-21 ATS off a SU win. It goes to final whistle
