Tom Freese Blue Line Club- Friday, April 25

Cincinnati at San Francisco (10:15pm)
Cincinnati starter Aaron Harang is in excellent KW form with a better than 8-1 strikeout to walk ratio in his last 3 starts. Harang has been on the winning side in 15 of his last 22 April starts. The Reds are 16-5 in the last 21 road starts made by Harang. San Francisco is 7-15 their last 22 games vs. righties and they are 11-27 after scoring two or less runs in their last game. The Giants are 0-4 off a road trip of 7 or more days. PLAY ON CINCINNATI w/Harang

WUNDERDOG COMP

Game: Philadelphia at Pittsburgh (7:10 PM Eastern)
Pick: Pittsburgh +105 (moneyline)

Adam Eaton is certainly the weak link in the Philly rotation. He posted an ERA of 5.12 in 2006 and 6.29 last year, along with 41 HRs in just 226 innings over these two seasons. Zach Duke has had three good starts with an ERA of 2.89 prior to giving up 5 runs in his last outing. We expect him to bounce back. He has walked just six batters in 23 innings, and is yet to serve up the long ball. This has not been a great park for the Phillies to play in, as the Pirates own a 13-6 mark against them at home over the last six seasons. They have not lost a series to them at home since 2001. We'll back the Pirates at home.

Game: Detroit Pistons @ Philadelphia 76ers - Friday April 25, 2008 7:00 pm
Pick: 3 units (Bonus Play) TOTAL: Over 180 (-110)

Research that went into this play:

The Pistons did not let go of their 15 point lead like they did in game 1 and hung in there and kept the gas pedal on all game long and consequently showed a nice win + the cover. What gives in this game? Well, when taking a look at these 2 teams matchups this year at Detroit and Philly, a few things become clear: That when Philly is an active dog, like I've always said and in particular, they have scored 88 and 86 points thus far in these 2 ballgames in a tight game and in a blowout, I would not be surprised to see Philly cover this game, but more importantly this game go over. Notice the total was 178.5 and 178 the first 2 games and now 180, it is higher for a reason in my opinion and I expect this game to go over.

Analysis:

The bottom line for this game is the fact that I expect Philly to be competitive. In fact, I would not be surprised if Philly shocks a lot of people and puts up 95 and possibly even a 100 points tonight. Why? Well, considering this team put up in the high 80's, fairly consistentl in Detroit, look what this team is going to do coming home with revenge. After all, in all respects, it is Philly that has home court advantage right now. There are 5 games remaining, of which 3 are going to be in Philly and where they have had great success against Detroit scoring. However, I don't want to go against the Pistons. I'll take the active dog to send this game over for this evening. I believe sports betting is based on theories and I have 2 strong trends that support this in adjoining trends: The over is 5-1 in 76ers last 6 playoff games as an underdog of 0.5-4.5 meaning when they are an active dog at home for a possible outright win and the over is 5-1 in the Pistons last 6 games as a road favorite of 0.5-4.5 meaning that they get tested on the road and consequenlty games go over as they get pushed to the limit. Expect this game to go over late with free throws.

San Antonio at Phoenix, 10:30 p.m. San Antonio Spurs + 6?

MLB:

Friday, April 25th, 2008 7:10 p.m. est.
Atlanta Braves (11-11) at New York Mets (11-10)
(R) Jair Jurrjens (2-2) vs. (R) Mike Pelfrey (2-0)

New York has lost four of five and will send Mike Pelfrey to the hill. The right-hander had a bad outing in his last start on Sunday, allowing four runs and 10 hits over five innings in a 5-4 defeat to the Phillies. He is 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA in three appearances against Braves, including the two starts. Atlanta has won six of their last eight games and counters with Jair Jurrjens. The right-hander has pitched impressively and is 2-2 with a 3.20 ERA in four stars this season. He has never faced the Mets.
Let's go with the Mets tonight at Shea Stadium to grab their fourth straight win at home. New York has won six of their last eight home games and five of Pelfreys last 7 starts. Meanwhile, the Braves have dropped nine of its last 12 road games

New York Mets - 140

Sorry, I thought rza was taking on VR and I didn't want to double post him like we've done a few times. I just have this feeling that he is about to go on one of those runs in the Playoffs. Ive seen it now for about 6 months and when he gets going, you can be sure he is going to tear it up for a while. Thats how VRunner ends up winning every month, somewhere along the way he just starts running over the books.

thesportspro can u post vr when they come out today?

Ness started off very good last year in MLB with his 15*.
This year he is doing ok with them although he has lost his last 2.
My biggest gripe with him is the 10 different names he has for his plays.
Why not release just a 15* play of the day and leave it at that, instead he goes and confuses the shit out of everyone with "weekly wipeout" "insider" "legend",, seriously WTF is the difference??
This 24* he has going I sort of like, but the Rays always play the Sox hard and Sox Relief pitching has been suspect as of late. Check the lineup to see if it is no one is missing and hope they outscore Tampa/
