I think the wrong team is favored in this match up. These teams ended the season going in opposite directions, but I still like the Hawkeyes in this game. Tennessee is dealing with multiple injuries that have the Vols playing a lot of young players in key positions. This Iowa team is a veteran squad with a lot of experience. The Vols have not been able to run the ball well on offense and they have struggled to stop the run when on defense. The Hawkeyes running game slowed down in the last month of the season but they should be able to get back on track here against Tennessee. Iowa rushed for 158 yards per game this season behind a very solid offensive line led by left tackle Brandon Scherff who was on of the best in the Big Ten. This is the preferred spot for Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz who is 7-2 against the spread in bowl games as an underdog. Take the points.

I’m fading a Mississippi State team that is really struggling having lost six out of their last seven games including home losses to Arkansas State, South Carolina Upstate and McNeese State. The Bulldogs do not have good team chemistry and are struggling offensively ranking 305th in the nation in scoring at 61.5 points per game. The Noles come in playing well having won five out of their last six games including a two point win over the Florida Gators in their last game. I like FSU to pick up the road win against a struggling Bulldogs team. Lay the points.
