Greg Shaker Bonus Play. 21-7

GIANTS/PADRES UNDER 8 -105 (Lowry/Germano) When playing totals, I pick a game to at least push and although it may seem like 7 runs or less in this game is not likely, it also seems very unlikely that we will see 9. Let's look at some brief facts. These two teams have not accomplished the 9 mark when playing each other in the last 6 tries. They have accomplished the 9 mark only 1 time in the last 11 tries. While Germano has not been too spiffy of late, we can discout one of those games at Coors Field because we know what happens there a lot. He has allowed 4 homeruns in his last 2 games and that is not that good. But his overall numbers remain pretty fair and he will face a Bondless Giants team today. this Park is not hitter friendly at all and the Padres are only hitting .233 here. Opposing teams are also finding this climate tough to handle and that is why UNDER has been the case more times than not at Petco. Certainly Lowry has been very good and his last 5 of 6 has fallen below the 8 run total. The SD Pen Reamins very good and SF's is performing well of late as well. Even with sub-standard throwers last night, and 12 innings played, we saw just 5 runs touch the diamond and there is no doubt that we have better throwers in today's contest. It is going to take 9 to beat us and that is a very large task considering these two teams and the way that they have played each other in past history...I will lean UNDER on this one..

Pittsburgh -3
3-Units (7:00 P.M. CST)

Pre-Season Football Kicks off Today!!!
New Orleans and Pittsburgh square off in the Hall of Fame Game at Canton, Ohio tonight. Although this is listed as a Neutral Site game, Pittsburgh will obviously have a home field advantage. Both teams look to let their starters play from 12-15 plays before letting the subs take over.
Pittsburgh will start Big Ben, followed by Charlie Batch, while New Orleans will start Drew Brees and follow up with little used backup Jamie Martin.
Jason Fife and Tyler Palko are expected to finish the second half behind center for New Orleans, while Brian St. Pierre and Bryan Randall will do mop up duty for Pittsburgh.
Last year, New Orleans Head Coach Sean Payton went 1-3 straight up and after the spread in pre-season games, showing that he was more interested in evaluating personnel that winning pre-season games.
New Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin has ran a very strict training camp, while showing no mercy in pre-season practices. Tomlin may be feeling pressured to win after replacing Bill Cowher as Pittsburgh's first new head coach in 15 years.
Rain is expected for tonight's game (80 % Chance of showers),
Take Pittsburgh -3 for 3-Units.

Larry Ness' Sunday Night Delight (Mets/Cubs on ESPN!)
My Sunday Night Delight is on the Chi Cubs at 8:05 ET. Tom Glavine will go for a historic win in one of the majors' vintage ballparks tonight on ESPN. Glavine will make his second attempt to become the 23rd pitcher in major league history with 300 wins as the Mets wrap up their weekend series with the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Glavine will be opposed by Jason Marquis, who for the season is 8-6 with a 4.22 ERA. The Cubs have lost money here at Wrigley this season (minus-$882) and in away night games vs right-handers (like Marquis), the Mets are an impressive 19-9 (plus-$1,095). That's the good news. Now let me shae some of the bad news (and there's plenty!) for Glavine and the Mets. First off, while the Cubs have lost money at home, let's note that the team is 20-10 over its last 30 home games. Also, while Marquis has hardly been a dominating pitcher in '07. he has pitched well in Wrigley, going 6-2 with a respectable 3.79 in 12 home starts. Even more importantly, the Cubs are 10-2 in his 12 home starts. As for Galvine, while he pitched very well Tuesday night at Miller Park against the Brewers (six IP / two hits / one ER), he has NOT been effective on the road since May. In his five previous road starts prior to last Tuesday's game (going all the way back to June 10), he had allowed 43 hits and 31 ERs over 28.1 innings, for an ERA of 9.85! I'll also add that Glavine has struggled at Wrigley Field for more than a decade, going 1-4 with a 4.85 ERA in his last seven starts dating to August 1996 when he was with Atlanta. No 300th win tonight for Mr. Glavine. Sunday Night Delight on the Chi Cubs.

GoodLuck...Larry
