Note: Pinstripes wrap up a weekend visit in cleveland behind Andy Pettite, who has improved his numbers after the All Star break each of the last three-plus years. This, it's no surprise to note Pettite's 9-3 team start mark in his last 12 efforts in August. With the Yankees hitting the cover off the ball, we'll back Pettite and the Pinstripes here today.

978 KAN (+105) vs 977 TOR

Analysis: The Royals don't own one of the more prominent rotations in the league but they've been receiving excellent starting pitching lately. Royals' starting pitchers have a 2.28 ERA in their last five games, allowing two runs or less in four of those outings. Kansas City beat the Blue Jays 4-1 on Saturday, as starter Leo Nunez combined with two relievers for a four-hitter. Rookie Brian Bannister looks to win his fourth straight decision as the Royals continue their four-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday. Kansas City beat the Blue Jays 4-1 on Saturday, as starter Leo Nunez combined with two relievers for a four-hitter. Bannister (8-6, 3.32 ERA) gave up one run and six hits in seven innings of a 5-1 win over Minnesota, improving to 3-0 with a 1.61 ERA in his last four starts. Bannister won four straight starts from June 1-17, and is 8-3 with a 2.80 ERA in 12 outings since the start of June. He's been tough to beat at Kauffman Stadium in that stretch, going 5-1 with a 2.23 ERA in six home starts, allowing one run or less in four of those games. Toronto has activated A.J. Burnett (5-6, 4.31) from the 15-day disabled list and he'll make his first start in more than a month. Burnett was first placed on the DL on June 19 with right shoulder pain and in his first start after being activated on June 28, he allowed five runs in four innings of an 8-5 loss to Minnesota. He was put right back on the DL with a sore right shoulder. Burnett did not factor in that loss to the Twins, but is still 0-3 with a 4.65 ERA in his last five starts. He has not won since May 22. Take KC.

Matty O'Shea | MLB Money Line
953 SDP (-150) vs 954 CIN

Analysis: Hard to ignore the perfect angles with San Diego's Jake Peavy (12-5, 2.21 ERA) today. Peavy is 6-0 on the road this season with a 0.89 ERA, 5-0 vs. NL Central opponents this year with a 0.99 ERA and the Padres have won all seven of his career starts against the Reds. That's all I need to know to bet San Diego today.
