I really think people might be split on this......

Would you rather be

A. A winning low stakes (.25/50NL, .50-1NL) winning grinder

B. A high stakes (25/50NL, 50/100NL) loser

I would think it seems simple at first, but you would think most people that play at the higher level are in theory better poker players and also obv experience much higher swings

Thoughts?

exactly, seems simple right, but think of it like this.

A. Low stakes guy, does the same stake forever, constantly winning

B. High stakes guy, got their by moving up and up and up as his game improved, got to a very high limit and has obvious high poker abilities, however ran cold or just couldn't keep up with this next higher level and busto

Still pick A?

yeah good point but would always take winning over losing anyday.....also if u go from .25/.50nl to 50/100 then u have done something right. so maybe try that out and if u cant keep up then go back down to what u were making money on and get your confidence back....good ? though

I see his point....I know myself i get bored as crap playing with what my bankroll allows. My bankroll say .25/.50 but anything lower than 1/2 just feels like play money games.
I could probably have 8 of 10 winning sessions at .25 and yet while ill only win 6 of 10 at say 2/4 you'll find me at 2/4 with half my bankroll on the table at any given time.
Same thing for sngs....i can pretty much crush $6 and $10 sngs yet i have my filter set for $16 and up
And thats y im busto several times a year. Playing above my bankroll all it takes is 1 bad run and im out.

Im down right now about $85 bucks trying to win WCOOP seats at Stars to $320 events i have no buisness playing.....Ofcourse ive never done things the right way thats y its really gambling for me and its skill for others....

exactly, I myself play it straight, but it doesn't bore me to win money, I just take the slow approach. In fact my poker rating gives me the badge of "steady Eddy" if you've ever been to that site they give out different "badges" depending on how you do. Mine basically says "slow and steady wins the race, this guy is consistent session after session"

Although, I do think I need a plan for moving up, maybe a BB/100 or a certain bankroll
