Top seed and defending champion
Andy Roddick averted a second round upset at the hands of an unseeded Argentine, saving two match points against Eduardo Schwank on Thursday at the Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington.
Schwank came back from a 3-1 deficit in the third set with two breaks of serve against the World No. 9 and held two match points while serving at 5-4 (40-15). Roddick saved both opportunties and succeeded in getting back on serve, allowing him to close out the win in the tie-break, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(2).
