I've never seen anything like that. 4 blown calls, and the chair umpire actually forgot the score on one crucial point....Now for full disclosure, I bet Williams(thank God not much) but this was the most disgraceful display of calls I've ever seen. I will not be betting tennis again. (Racism---you know you can never rule it out) If you saw this you'd wonder. Even Tracy Austin couldn't believe it....Congrats to Capriati who played terrific also.

Was watching the bases and didn't see it, but pondered pulling the trigger on JennyCap earlier today at the plus price. Serena was going against doctor's orders and wasn't even supposed to be playing.
Can't wait to fade Dementieva and her marshmallow serve.

A total joke this was. The over rule by the chair was amazing especially from the opposite side of the court. The ball did not even hit the line is was so far in. Replay in tennis, Yeah RIGHT, but this was totally unfair tonight.

I don't follow tennis much but I did see the highlights of this match on ESPN. The officiating was poor but it doesn't help when you have 57 unforced errors and your opponent has 29. Like I said, I'm no tennis expert but it's pretty tough to win a match when you throw away that many points in comparison to your opponent.

Even Serena haters had to feel bad for her. You did not even have to show a slo-mo to see the ball was clearly in.

Because of a weather delay the match is currently being shown.

Couple of things worth pointing out.

1. Serena should have stopped play and requested a supervisor. Although they can do nothing to reverse the overrule by the referee, she could have that shitbag removed (lesson from JohnnyMac)

2. But more apparant to me is the COMPLETE lack of sportsmanship by Capriati. She was right there and saw that ball in. Where is honesty and integrity anymore????
When I played college tennis we would frequently admit when a ball was in and the referee was wrong and concede the point to the opponent.
BOOO Jennifer, you had your chance to really step up and not be a whore.

Yes...I saw a pro do it MANY years ago. I don't remember the pro or tourney but I'm guessing it was approx. 14-18 years ago.

I still remember the event because it struck me as the greatest sign of sportsmanship I had seen. Generally, I watched the big three so when I saw a pro award a point to the opposition, it made an impact. You NEVER see a batter look back at an ump and say "no that wasn't a ball" or "I didn't check that swing" or a football player say "no, I actually trapped that ball so it's not a catch."

cussin it is right,,,, Capriotti is a scumbag,, in the world of tennis,,it ISNT like any other,,Just as in Golf,,they are the 2 Sports left with a Death Grip on Tradition and conservativeness,,,, that is Built into their respective games(thats why they scuk in my opinion),, Howver,,,, this same thing happend to me during a Hoops game many years back,,, 1 Ref was New,,and the other Knew -0- avbout hoops,,, so during half time my coach and the opposing coach,,asked the refs to step down,,and we went to Street rules,,,, (call your own fouls) that went great,,,, the game picked up pace and we had a Blast,,,
(we lost by the way)

the point is that,,, you should Neer stand for Ineptness alltooften we think just because someone is in power,,,,they are right,,and we can do nothin,,,,,
ugh,,,,,
Tater
(this was a Jr. High Hoops game by the way,, hahha)

its not jennifer's fault. these women are not playing for a college sec championship. or for a community league. they are playing for BIG money. several hundred thousand dollars. if the ref misses a call, ur damn straight capriati is not going to overrule her!!! who knows, maybe capriati might not have known for sure whether it was in.

capriati is there to play tennis. not make calls. period.

If she gets too frustrated, the beast can be a pro wrestling star. Then she could wear all the goofy costumes that she can think up and fit right in.
