Hey,

I began betting on sports starting Oct 16th and did some research/reading and the consensus was that betting 1%-5% of my bankroll was a safe amount. I chose 4% ($10) since my bankroll was only $250. When I hit a new bankroll of $635 at the start of January, I recalculated my bet amount at 3% and started betting $20. I maxed out a week later at $530 profit. A week after that of non-stop losing nights I'm down to only $20 profit...

What should I do differently for next time I hit my designated amount to raise my bet amounts? and what did I do wrong...
my bankroll is currently $270.

Very smart advice.
All seasons, all sports, all cappers have ups and downs. Maybe you had some lucky and start following people in theyr best run. Betting same stake from start to end of season you will not be rich soon with a small bank but you will increase and be prepared for nexts seasons.
Decrease your stake to 2% of the current bankroll and recalculate it just when a new season comes. If you bet USA sports recalculate it when NBA starts next season. If you bet Soccer recalculate it August 2014.
Dont care about bet small amounts. Its much better win small than lose big and deposit month after month. Almoast all people wants to win fast and the only think they are doing its losing faster to start over and over again, doing new deposits months after month.

What? Me worry?

Love this advice. Bet the same amount on every game you play. Never bet in "units", units are a measuring device, not a $ number. I prefer to bet 2% of my bank on any given bet i make. I never bet more and never bet less .... meaning if the line is +127 I bet 1 unit. If the line is -127 I bet to win 1 unit. One unit is 2% of my bankroll, that is the $ NUMBER I bet. Also I never raise my bets until my bankroll increases 25%. Then I recalculate the 2% unit for my bet size. Hope this helps.

These guys are right. I personally use the 5% but I have a $1000 start up bankroll typically. I do however follow units (my own, not the cappers amount) I use a system I got from an old capper I used though that works well.

Bets: (1 bet per time period)

a) 1.0 unit
b) 1.5 units
c) 2.0 units ( if I lose all three then I go to a half bet of what I lost)
d) 2.5 units
e) 3.0 units
f) 5.0 units (and so on and so forth halving my losses until I can get back to even)

Then I start the whole process over again....

a) 1.0 ui
