Starting to travel more for work. Just me and the wife. She occasionally gets scared home alone at night even though live in nice area.

Been looking at everything - adt/simplisafe/frontpoint/etc.

everything has motion censors and cameras etc. all she really wants is something for the doors so if someone breaks in an alarm goes off. Don't need anything too fancy

anybody have one they recommend?

None, I did alarms, cctv, home theater sales and installations for years. Find a small local business. They all go to the same monitoring stations. If you are paying more than $15-$20 a month you are getting straight up ripped off. You should get 2 door and a motion detector for $150. Each door or window should be $50 after that, maybe $75 for another motion and $50 for the keychain keyfobs.

And for the cameras, If you only need 2-3, get the wireless IP cameras. They are for sale online everywhere. Easy to install. Only wiring is power (110v plug) and then follow the instruction to network them. Can bring up on phone and PC. They even make the doorbell / camera kits, so you cant even see it.

Also get a doorbell that has a small monitor for when the button is pushed it'll show a big black man in a tank top approaching in a deep voice, "Yo man whatcha want?!"

I think Lowe's/HD sells security system signs, just buy a bunch and place them around your house. And by the way, most break-ins happen during the day since most burglars don't want to deal with anyone at the house if that gives your wife peace of mind.

True, but you gotta be home and or the wife cool with using one.

I have both. A hand gun and a German Sheppard so I feel
pretty secure. The dogs bark alone is usually enough to
deter any pain in the ass that comes near the house.
