YTD: 8-2 +4.4*
Week: 0-0

Giving the forum a big heads-up on what I think is the game to bet on so far this year. I've been looking ahead to the UGA/SCAR game for the last week. I guessed the line would open at 13 to 14. I would take anything 10 or less. Imagine my surprise to see it at -7.5! I quickly bought the hook and made it my official first 5* play this year.
I think it’s all about revenge. SCAR will play tougher against UGA than they did (by overlooking) VANDY, sure. But, UGA remembers the embarrassment of last year’s upset at home and Richt is in a national championship hunt. He will not hesitate to secure any doubts to voters about their deserving of the #2 ranking. Hammer UGA early! More plays to come in this thread as week continues.

Play:

UGA-7(-120) 5*

GOOO DAWGS! UGA Alum here and picked this line up at -7 -110 at BetJam. Thanks for the headsup, I was going to layoff this one since I figured it to be in the 15-18 range.

Georgia should win this by 3 TD's easy.

GO DAWGS! I got the -7.5 at betJM myself this morning...should have waited and got it at -7.

Can this line possibly drop below -7 ?!?!?!:think2:

I only have 2 units on it at -7 but if it drops down to -6 I will hammer it for 2 more in a heartbeat. I really don't think SC is very good at all, and Georgia is just cruising right now and hasn't even TRIED to win yet. I don't think we see the best Georgia has to offer until the Tennessee game in a few weeks.

Richt is a smart coach who is trying to win ballgames, not an Urban Myer running up the score with 90 secs left and risking his best players. Though I was a little surpised to see Moreno and Stafford in in the 4th guarter this week.. maybe the drop to #2 in the polls upset the players a little more than I expected.

They were going to be #2 after week 3 anyways, USC will trounce Ohio State and they were going to jump to #1 then. Nothing matters till the final week anyways and if Georgia and USC run the table they will play for it all. So why worry about it in week 2.

Ive always felt (well, since the Richt era) that UGA is a tough team to ever bet on. They manage to win games they shouldnt...lose to teams (or come VERY close) they shouldn't...but Richt has never tried to run up scores before...untill now.
I agree about last weeks 4th quarter. I understand that Moreno and Stafford may have some slim shot at a Heisman...but cmon...this was CMICH. Game was in hand. It just wasn't like Richt's character. He's a different coach this year, for sure.

Oh yeah...if the line drops (somehow) below -7, I will break my own rule and put a few more units on 'em.

That is why I almost always avoid georgia bets. Part of it is being a homer and thinking they are AWESOME. Also, they tend NOT to cover big spreads because they put in the backups pretty early and don't run up the score. Plus the big running portion of their game doesn't lead to blowouts.

Then you have games like Tennessee last year when they just seem not to showup at all. So they are VERY VERY hard team to cap in general.

I think this year they are focused and Richt has decided he needs to make a statement so a 1 loss SEC team has a shot at the BCS title, it is going to be virtually impossible for UGA to win all 13 games and I don't know if anyone is going to beat USC or Oklahoma to give them that shot but you better be ready in case they do.

UGA under Richt has a great road record of like 30-7. Something like that. As a UF fan, it pains me to say I will be on UGA. In the last 35 years I can count on one hand how many times I have wagered on UGA. Damn, I feel unclean.:lolBIG::nohead: LT

Prophet,

I'm probably going to avoid playing this game unless something drastic changes in my mind between now and Saturday. I think UGA should win this game by more than 7, but generally I do not like betting road chalk in the SEC. Not that I never do it, but I just don't like it. Plus, SCar typically plays UGA very well year in and year out. BOL to you with this play.

The SEC game that stuck out in my mind was MTSU/UK. I can't seem to find any reason at all not to lay heavily on UK -16.5 at home against MTSU. I am an MTSU alum and I'm glad they beat (a VERY BAD) Maryland last week, but I can't see UK not winning this game by 4 TD's or more. MTSU's offense is very, very bad and they lack size on both their OL and DL. Kentucky should live in the MTSU backfield. Also, UK should have their way with them running the ball early and often, and this should open up the passing game in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, leading to them coasting to an easy cover IMO. Do you have any thoughts on this game?

Frodo,
Haven't even thought about the game till you mentioned it. I watched the KY/LOUIS game and was pretty impressed. I know nothing about MTSU, however. I’ll definitely look into this game. Thanks for the heads up!

I finally pulled the trigger on UGA-7. May the gambling gods have mercy on me as well as The GatorNation. :sad3::hump: LT

Gold Sheet stat of the day - UGA/USC have averaged 28 points combined the last 10 games.

Yankee posting in an SEC Thread here, go figure.
