The Nutered Dame fans are starting early this season. What will your excuse be for failing to make the playoffs this season? Since the Irish do not play in a CC game, a loss to Clemson, Ga. Tech, USC, or Stanford finishes their playoff hopes.

Notre Dame has fallen in with Nebraska, Michigan, and Miami in that they were solid 20-30 years ago but their glory days are long gone and won't be relevant in the CFP discussions.

I love the word "hype" when people try to disrespect the SEC. The SEC won 7 in a row...and has not won it in 2 years. So what? It's still - hands down - the best overall football conference...and we're not just talking product. It's the fans, the traditions, the tailgating, the rivalries, the SEC Network, the stadiums, etc. Oh, and one more thing.....how many National Titles has ND won in the last 30 years?

With such a black and white statement, you forgot Texas. Of course, you'd have to modify your statement, since they weren't relevant 20-30 years ago. Funny things, those cycles.

Ole Pauly seems to have a little axe to grind with the SEC. Probably nothing to do with ESPN firing him...naw!

For those of you who get a chill up your leg from listening to Mr. Howard's rant....you can shell out $800 for his
college picks...Oh yeah...he's a tout also.

Please let us know the results of your investment with Pauly at the end of the season. Hope like hell it's better
than 2012 or 2013.

Great. So ESPN get rid of one tout and hires another (Phil Steele). This is what we should have come to expect from the network of Brent Mushmouth, Herbie, Holtz, May, Corso, and others. Now I know that some of these fools are gone, but to be honest, I tried to avoid these clowns so I do not know who is gone and who is left.

We'll see if Einstein is right at the end of the season. As far as betting that conference, I would rather people overestimate the SEC than underestimate them like this guy obviously is...That's where the money is made. But I'm not holding my breath they will go 2-5 in their bowls again. Not that shitty bowl games are that accurate of a barometer of conference strength anyway...

Sooners, I'm an SEC guy all the way. Best college football any true CFB fan would ever want to watch...my humble opinion. Saying that, I very seldom bet on SEC teams. With the way they beat each other up every week...its too difficult for this old timer to figure a winning edge.

Seems the 'Gold' is in other conferences............

Sooner: Interesting that you mention "Einstein"......While he was on the campus at Princeton everyone thought all he did was work on his theory of relativity. A few Saturdays each fall, he would put on his raccoon coat and sit-in on a Tiger football game. The truth of the matter was the fact that he knew the pretty girls would be there (the cheerleaders wearing abbreviated garb); Rumor had it, his "eye" would roam a little when the girlies were near-by. Never cut a physicist short.

I read one time where that "other" smart guy Steven Hawking has his assistants wheel him into a strip bar every now and then. Just goes to show that even the smart guys like to look at that puddy tang every now and then. Women have that way of dumbing men down...

Really? I can't believe how may posters here just want to sweep this under the rug. Like this guy has said nothing that is true. Please, my SEC apologists-give me a break. He has said nothing but the TRUTH. He didn't say the SEC is weak or bad just that they are overhyped-WAY overhyped especially last year. Are you really going to argue that point? The SEC has gamed the system, 8 league games! what a joke, they leave room to play the sister of mercy in NOVEMBER! are you f'ing kidding me! Oh Ya but stick with your "oh but we beat upon each other", Bull puckky story. The SEC has the system gamed and has for a while but don't argue your results last year were some fluke. You were no where near the best conference last year, that is all that is being stated in this vid and it is the truth.
