If a foreign country suddenly appeared in the middle of the United States one sunny afternoon, Say a new country for the Red Indian tribes, covering half your continent. (November 29, 1947)because "the UN sez it exists" I'm sure that Americans would say "no problem, help yourself. Take it, its yours, you deserve it.".

Ok, lets go back to some history. First of all let us take a look at the Countries that surround Israel. Jordan,Lebanon,Syria,Egypt,Iran,Iraq, and Saudi Arabia.
Under the Balfour Decleration of 1917,there was to exist a Jewish State, called Israel.
In 1922 the British divided Palestine into Two administrative districts. Jews, would be permitted on the West side only.
In 1946 the British, partioned Palestine and created an independent Palestine Arab state known as Jordan.
In 1947 the UN,General Assembly voted with a two thirds majority to partition western Palestine into a Jewish and a Arab state. Of course, the Arabs rejected it.
When Israel declared its independence in 1948,Lebanon, Syria, Egypt,Jordan and Iraq invaded Israel, with the intent of destroying it.
About 720,000 refugees fled from Israel.
In 1949 Israel signed an armistice with Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. No attempt was made by any Arab country to solve the Refugee problem.
Of course that brings us to the Six day war in 1967. The disputed West bank had belonged to Jordan. Between 1968 and 1969 the PLO had established a nation within a nation in Jordan. They tried to overthrow King Hussein Hussein, tried to offer Arafat a government with the Jordanian people. Arafat refused.
Three major attempts, the latest being the Yom Kippur war, was carried out by the Arabs with the purpose of destroying Israel. Yet, Israel, still seeks peace. Israel, gave back the Sinai and signed a peace treaty with Jordan and Egypt. Of course, they were close to an agreement with the Palestinians, which would have resulted in a INDEPENDENT Palestinian state. Arafats vision of the Middle East, is one where Israel, does not exist.
