Scottrade - Anyone use the site? Better ones?

Are they legit? Costs high. Any other sites that offer the same service that are better?

Just want to get in and dabble with a little extra change.

I have a Scottrade account. I give them an A+ and their office in my home town is very good.

Great site IMO.

i also have scottrade but have been with td ameritrade longer. scottrade has more local offices and makes it really convenient if you want to deposit and trade the same day. cheap at 7 bucks a trade unless you trade securities under 4 bucks.

They are great. Big problem with them is trying to sell your stocks that hit 0 or are close to zero late in the year. This past year was a nightmare for me and it was taking them the longest time to do in December.

I just transferred my SEP-IRA(no fees) to Scottrade.

If your a casual trader the likes of scottrade, etrade and ameritrade are ok. IF your a active trader, find yourself a direct access broker.

i have accounts at both, i think ameritrade is slightly cheaper
in options trading commissions. both have good, user-friendly online
software. td ameritrade is also a little bit more liberal in their margin
account requirements and the types of option transactions one
is allowed to make.
